Nella Rose's family speak out following controversial confrontation with Fred Sirieix

Nella Rose's family speak out following controversial confrontation with Fred Sirieix

The I'm A Celeb star has been at the centre of much of this year's drama

There’s still another week of it to go but it feels like we’ve had months’ worth of celebrity drama coming from the jungle.

A lot of the chat around this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! has, of course, centred around Fred Sirieix and Nella Rose.

The pair clashed pretty early on in camp after a comment made by the Frenchman was taken as ‘disrespectful’ by the comedian.

Rose, 26, had opened up to Sirieix, 51, about the loss of her father and then when they were discussing their age difference later on, he said that he ‘could be her dad’.

This really didn’t sit well with the star who told him to stay out of her way for the remainder of their time in the Aussie jungle.

Various TV stars have had their say on the controversial confrontation, including Sirieix’s First Dates co-stars Cici Coleman and Laura Tott.

Calling the jungle a ‘pressure cooker’, they said: “It is just a misunderstanding, but it was so awkward to watch.

Fred and Nella came to verbal blows in camp.

"My heart breaks for him because I know how he would have taken that and he will be so upset if he thinks he has offended her.”

And as Sirieix’s partner has had her say on the matter, Rose’s family have now spoken out on this celebrity drama.

Before losing her dad in 2020, she also lost her mother -who tragically died in her arms - leaving her and her brother to be evicted from the family home.

A relative told the MailOnline of their sadness when she didn’t reach out for help.

They said: “All of Nella’s siblings and other members of her family, wherever they are in the world, are watching her in the jungle – and praying that she wins.

"We are very proud of her achievements, it’s amazing what she’s done.

“She is showing the fighting spirit of the Congolese people and we are all with her.

The warring campmates seemed to make peace at one point.

“There is a lot of love for her as we are a caring Congolese family even though we live in different countries. She also has an aunt, her mother’s sister, who lives in London.

“And her father came from a very large, well to do family. There are lots of them in the Congo and others spread across Europe. She could have turned to anyone of us for help.”

Rose recently got ‘payback’ on Sirieix, along with Nigel Farage, as she made the pair responsible for washing up when she became camp leader.

She told her fellow campmates the First Dates star had been making her ‘life hell’.
