Sam Fender has truly rocked Glastonbury tonight, and fans have flooded social media with praise for the 'Spit of You' singer.
The musician, 28, took to the iconic music festival's Pyramid Stage on the first day of the festival, and the crowd went wild. Watch below:
Reacting to the performance, one fan wrote on Twitter: "Stop what you're doing. Turn on the telly and watch Sam Fender at Glastonbury.

"Watching Sam Fender at Glasto is making me so emotional man [sic]," added a second.
Another added: "i really really love sam fender, i am so jealous of anyone at glastonbury right now [sic]."
"Sam fender ripping it up, as expected [sic]," praised one user.

Another compared the singer's guitar playing to that of Marty McFly in Back to the Future.
They wrote: "Sam Fender is Marty McFly. Discuss."
"Sam Fender is smashing it at Glastonbury," simply praised another
One fan wrote: "No because I am fully getting emotional watching Sam Fender performing at Glastonbury, he deserves this so much man [sic]."

Meanwhile, this fan couldn't contain their praise for the down-to-earth star.
They wrote: "Real bloke. Real emotions. Real music. F**king LOVE #SamFender and everything he represents in music. A geordie lad playing glasto mainstage [sic]. F**king superb."
Tonight marks Fender's debut at the festival, which is back for the first time in two years because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Earlier today, Fender took to social media to share his excitement about the performance.
He wrote: "I’ve always wanted to go to @glastonbury and always dreamed of playing the pyramid stage as a young lad. Tomorrow, I'll do both.
"See you down the front at 8.15pm."
Tonight's performance will undoubtedly be made all the more special by the fact that Fender sadly had to pull out of playing the festival back in 2019.

He shared his heartbreak with fans on social media at the time, writing that while he has always dreamed of playing the festival 'the docs have told me I need longer to recover from illness'.
While Fender did want to return in 2020, for obvious reasons this didn't happen, and again in 2021, so it really was a performance a long time in the making.
