Ryan Reynolds tells world where Wrexham team are going next year after expensive Vegas weekend

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney sent the Wrexham lads to Las Vegas, but he's got other plans for the end of season party next year

Ryan Reynolds has revealed that he’s already planning the next end of season excursion for his Wrexham players.

Well, sort of. Here's the lads starting off their holiday with a massive welcome:

As you are no doubt aware, the Wrexham AFC players, who managed to win promotion back into the English Football League by claiming top spot in the National League, have been flown out to Las Vegas and told to leave their bank cards at home.

Co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have laid on a big bash for their players, including a reception at Hakkasan nightclub and a whole load of beer, by the looks of things.

And the tightly-planned five-day holiday looks like it’s been a heap of fun, judging by the social media output from the players.

So, with that in mind, Reynolds has joked that they’ll be getting something a bit different next year, with the club set to take on League Two.

On his Instagram page, he shared a picture of two players – Elliot Lee and star striker Paul Mullin - with DJ and former Jersey Shore star Pauly D.

He wrote across the picture: “Next year, they’re going on a five day meditation retreat to the Faroe Islands.”

Mullin, who bagged 47 times during the last season, has clearly enjoyed his trip, even though he was slightly wary ahead of the party.

He explained: "It became a thing where if we won the league, we’d get a holiday. So we’re off to Vegas.

"Ryan and Rob told us to leave our cards at home, they're sorting the lot. They sent us a full itinerary just now.

"Part of me doesn’t want to go, I might be dead by the end of it.

“But I’d never go to Vegas by my own accord, so I’m buzzing for it."

And Reynolds was clearly slightly concerned by the whole thing as well, with another player – Ollie Palmer – sharing a snap of the Deadpool star calling up to see that everyone was still OK.

“@vancityreynolds checking in this morning to see if his boys are still alive,” he wrote.

In that picture, Palmer was sitting in his bed without a shirt on, with Reynolds looked back down the camera at him staring as if in mock disappointment.

It’s the sort of disapproving look you’d expect to get from your mum after a big night out.

But, like all great things, this trip had to come to an end at some point, and another Wrexham star Ben Tozer seems to be looking forward to a bit of normality.

“We got our schedule yesterday for the off-season which is a few weeks’ rest so after Vegas, back down to earth, because we crave that family time during the season," he said.

"Then we’ll get fit and go again."

And they’ll have to, because whilst the club made a great effort this season to get out of the National League, it’ll be a different story altogether in League Two, so they’ll need to keep it up.
