Wrexham players get unbelievable welcome at world-famous nightclub on first night of Las Vegas trip

Wrexham flew across the pond in celebration of their promotion to the Football League

First Hollywood stars buy their club, and now the team is getting personal welcomes in Las Vegas. Wrexham football players really are living the dream.

After celebrating their promotion to the Football League with a bus parade in Wales on Tuesday (2 May), the team flew across the pond to Las Vegas for some more post-season celebrations.

The epic trip appears to show owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney staying true to their promises to the players, with Wrexham goalkeeper Ben Foster having previously said there were some big celebrations planned if the team were promoted.

Wrexham was greeted with flags and signs at the club.

Speaking to CBS Sports about the plans, Foster said: "They didn't [take us out after beating Notts County], but they promised us a monster one at the end of the season. If we get promoted they're going to take us somewhere with a lot of flashing lights."

There certainly are a lot of flashing lights in Vegas; a city known for its nightlife.

But as with any sort of work event, there are some rules, well, in this case, one rule, which Reynolds and McElhenney have laid down for the players heading out to the strip.

Top striker Paul Mullin said: "It became a thing where if we won the league, we’d get a holiday.

"So we’re off to Vegas. Ryan and Rob told us to leave our cards at home, they're sorting the lot.

"They sent us a full itinerary just now. Part of me doesn’t want to go, I might be dead by the end of it.

"But I’d never go to Vegas by me own accord, so I’m buzzing for it."

Wrexham wasted no time in taking advantage of their surroundings as they visited the Hakkasan Nightclub at MGM Grand; a club which promises 'an all-encompassing nightlife experience with a variety of atmospheres and world-renowned musical talent'.

Not only were the players on the guest list, but they were also met with the site of their logo and club name plastered across the walls in the venue.

Screens placed high above the crowds read 'Hakkasan welcomes the champions Wrexham AFC', while on the floor people waved the Welsh flag to welcome the players.

A group of people also stood in a line across the floor, each holding colour-changing signs with letters which spelled out 'Wrexham'.

It's unclear whether the celebrity owners attended the club with the team, but Hakkasan did tag Reynolds on its Instagram Story as it shared scenes from the night.

Team captain Ben Tozer has admitted the celebrations since their promotion have been 'absolute chaos', but 'so enjoyable'.

Speaking to talkSport, Tozer said it had been 'stressful' trying to sort out the itinerary of plans, but that they had some 'very, very good' things in store.

The team are in Vegas for four days, after which Tozer said the team will focus back on 'family time'.

“We got our schedule yesterday for the off-season which is a few weeks’ rest so after Vegas, back down to earth, because we crave that family time during the season," he said.

"Then we’ll get fit and go again."
