A World Cup pundit who left the ITV studio early yesterday has announced that her mother has been killed.
Nadia Nadim, who is part of ITV's coverage of the tournament in Qatar, has revealed that her mother was hit by a truck on Tuesday (22 November).
Nadim was part of the channel's studio coverage of Denmark's goalless draw with Tunisia in Group D yesterday.

But in the coverage after the final whistle, the Denmark striker was nowhere to be seen.
At the time, ITV said that Nadim had to leave early, but did not provide any other details.

But now, taking to her Instagram account, Nadim has revealed her mother was hit by a truck on the way back from the gym and sadly died.

She said: "Tuesday morning my mother was killed by a truck. She was on her way back from the gym.
"Words cannot describe what I’m feeling. I have lost the most important person in my life and it happened so sudden and unexpected. She was only 57. She was a warrior who had fought for every inch of her life.

"She didn’t give me life once but twice, and everything I/ we are is because of her. I have lost my home and I know nothing is gonna ever feel the same. Life is unfair and I don’t understand why her and why this way. I love you and I will see you again.

"Her funeral is going to be soon, (more information to follow). Please come and show her the love, respect and prayers she deserves."
Nadim is a former Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain forward, who currently plays football in America for Racing Louisville.
The 34-year-old was born in Afghanistan, but has over 100 caps for Denmark's national team.
Nadim lost her father when she was just 11 years old, after he never returned home from a meeting with the Taliban.

From that point, Nadim and her family fled Afghanistan and eventually made a new life in Denmark.
Earlier this year, Nadim fulfilled a lifelong ambition of becoming a doctor.
In Qatar, she is part of ITV's punditry team alongside the likes of Ian Wright, Gary Neville, Roy Keane, Graeme Souness, Joe Cole and Nigel de Jong.
