KSI explains huge new eye injury just weeks away from next boxing fight

The YouTuber returned to the platform after a two-week break and addressed the elephant in the room.

KSI has addressed the elephant in the room during his latest YouTube video, explaining his eye injury ahead of his upcoming boxing match.

The YouTuber-turned-rapper and boxer has returned to the social media platform around two weeks after his most recent upload - during which he caused controversy for using a racial slur during a Sidemen episode.

The 29-year-old social media star was sporting a very noticeable swollen eye in the clip, in which he wasted no time addresses.

"Yo, what's up? It's your boy KSI... mind the eye," he laughed at the start of the video.

It seems fans need not be concerned for the Prime co-founder as he explained exactly how he got his injury.

“I got it during sparring,” he shared. “Just a clash of heads.”

KSI is currently in training camp preparing for his next fight, which is due to take place next month.

He will face his next opponent, Joe Fournier, on Saturday, 13 May 2023 and based on the update he has shared with his 16.2M subscribers on Thursday (13 April) preparations seems to be swell.

“Training camp is going well,” he said, after mentioning his swollen eye.

“Obviously I took a little break. I felt like it was good for me. I felt like I was really able to step back and reflect on my whole life, my whole situation because I feel like I’ve just been going at a hundred miles an hour in general especially this year.

He continued: “So much has happened I still haven’t taken in that I knocked out Temperrr in the first round, like, I wasn’t able to take that whole moment, you know, me fighting at Wembley Arena and everyone going crazy and everything.

“Everything has just moved and I’ve just done so many things after that, that I haven’t been able to just settle and take it all in."

KSI, real name Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, also touched on his racial slur controversy for which he apologised.

In a video posted on Sunday (2 April) on the Sidemen YouTube channel, KSI used a slur directed towards people from Pakistan or of Pakistani descent.

After being called out by people online, he issued an apology last week for using the slur.

"I want to take this opportunity to offer my deepest and most sincere apologies for my words and actions," he said.

"There are no excuses for what I said and I recognise that I've caused a lot of hurt and disappointment to so many people that look up to me, and my ignorance has only reinforced the negative stereotypes that have existed for way too long in this country.

"I want to express my heartfelt regret for what I said. And I want you to know that I am generally [sic] ashamed and deeply sorry for any pain or suffering."

In his new video, KSI said he’s been ‘messing up a lot’ and ‘taking a lot of Ls’ and said he took a break to ‘educate’ himself and ‘improve myself as a human being’.

“I’ve made mistakes, so many mistakes, if you’ve been a fan from me for the longest time you know I’ve made countless mistakes, but the important thing is every time I’ve made a mistake, I’ve learnt from it and improved myself and as a human being that’s all I can do.”
