Cheltenham Festival viewers in shock after naked jockey spotted in background of live TV broadcast

ITV coverage of Cheltenham Races left viewers in stitches after a naked jockey was caught on camera. Prepare for a racier version of ITV than you're used to:

With Cheltenham Races 2023 having kicked off yesterday (Tuesday, 14 March) why not take a trip down memory lane to remember some of its best moments.

It may not be one of the races' finest hours, nor ITVs, but there's nothing like a bit of nudity to spice up a day at the races.

ITV Racing's coverage of one of the Cheltenham Races got off to a rather rogue start when the cameraperson managed to catch jockey Patrick Mullins butt-naked in the changing room while trying to interview another competitor.

In the foreground of the shot, a jockey can be seen being interviewed by ITV ahead of a race, alas, viewers didn't end up paying much attention to what he was saying as a result of getting a bit more than they bargained for pre-watershed hours.

In the background, Mullins walks past, seemingly just topless, until he passes a table and a quick flash of his private parts can be spotted just before he walks out of view of the camera.

It was only brief and very much a 'blink and you'll miss it' moment, but viewers were eagle-eyed and it didn't take long before they flocked to social media.

Having recorded the saucy footage - live broadcasted in 2017 - Scott Lindsay took to Twitter, tagging ITV, asking: "Are you going to apologise for showing a naked person with a brief bit of c**k hanging out on live tv this early?"

"ITV's Cheltenham coverage was going so well & then they get a fully naked jockey walking past in the background...could only happen on ITV," another viewer wrote.

A third commented: "OMG. NAKED MAN IN BACKGROUND OF CHELTENHAM INTERVIEW IN JOCKEY DRESSING ROOM."

If your idea of getting lucky at the races isn't having a giggle at some surprise nudity on screen then you can get involved in ITV7's jackpot prizes instead.

You may have missed the £100,000 jackpot which was up for grabs yesterday on the opening day of the festival, but fear not, because there's a jackpot tomorrow and on the closing day (Friday, 17 March) too.

There's been no nudity reported so far this year, but you never know. Keep a look out for Mullins or if ITV conduct another interview in the locker area, you never know what you may end up spotting.
