Woman accused of 'criminal behaviour' for method of eating hot dog at Australian Open

Woman accused of 'criminal behaviour' for method of eating hot dog at Australian Open

An Australian Open fan has caused outrage on social media

Sometimes it's good to take a break from the cost-of-living crisis and remind ourselves that there are more important issues out there - like the outrageously 'criminal' way someone has consumed a hot dog. Watch below:

Tennis/hot dog enthusiasts on social media are kicking off over the weekend's Australian open matches.

It all started when Twitter user Josh Garlepp shared a video with the caption: "A lot of people have their opinions on how to eat a hot dog, but this is the only way."

The clip showed a fan sat in the stands using a pretty bizarre method to eat a hot dog, which many of us have never witnessed before.

Rather than picking it up - like a hot dog - and munching it from the long end, the woman uses her hands to snap a piece off the sausage to put it in her gob.

What made it even worse for some people is that it was a 'dry dog' with no sauce in sight.

Viewers were also questioning the bun to sausage ratio along with the pure 'horror' of no ketchup or mayo.

Taking to Twitter, one fan commented: "This act precedes normal eating behaviour and ensures precise snag/bun ratio, especially on the first and arguably most important bite.

"Any other conclusion is an oversight."

"The biggest crime here is that there is no sauce or mustard!!" another added.

A third also thought: "Any chance of some sauce on that dog?? Looks dry."

"Good lord, that is making me thirsty looking at it. Put some sauce or mustard on it, for the love of God," a fourth user penned.

While someone else added: "Are you crazy, where's the sauce?!"

However, certainly not everyone was on the same page, with one viewer disagreeing: "When you pay $30 you can eat it anyway way you want."

Another person said they would do the same: "The lady eating the hot dog is possibly wearing lipstick and a nice outfit. Both of these are enemies of a hot dog with tommy sauce. I'd do the same if I wanted to stay neat and tidy. But given I never have been, not planning to start now! Lol!"

Someone else just thought that the person behind the camera should only be focusing on the game at hand, writing: "Put the phone down and enjoy the tennis, champ."

"Stop getting in other peoples chit and mind your business," another added.

Ah, nothing quite like a debate over how to eat a hot dog to get your Monday afternoon started.

What's for lunch?
