Woman who spotted 'dead husband' in restaurant ‘insists’ it’s him after he died nine years ago

A British woman has had the shock of her life after she opened up Facebook to see her husband in a recently posted video.

The only thing is, he died nine years ago.

Apparently he's the older gentleman in the green top right at the start of this video:

Indian restaurant Spice Cottage, which sits in the picturesque village of Westbourne in West Sussex, has since been flooded with queries about the identity of the mystery man who Lucy Watson, 59, believes is her late husband Harry.

So is this ghost Harry, or did he pull a Carole Baskin's ex-husband and leg it to Costa Rica only to come back for Spice Cottage's irresistible butter chicken?

In the short promotional video, diners can be seen tucking into their meals as waiters scurry between the tables and chairs filled with happy customers.

One of those customers appears to be Lucy's late husband.

The video, shared on Facebook by the restaurant, has left many scratching their heads after Watson commented: "How old is the footage? My late husband and his son were on the first shot and he died in 2014?"

Speaking to the MailOnline, she said: "I don't really use Facebook apart from snooping on friends or catching up with people. I was scrolling through and the video popped up.

"The moment I saw the thing I thought, 'Oh my God – that’s Harry'. It was so instant. I didn’t even have to think.

“He’d be eating a chicken korma because that’s all he ever ate.

"There was no doubt in my mind it was my husband. I couldn’t pause the thing so I had to replay it about 30 times and each time I was surer and surer."

The restaurant explained that the footage was shot on 9 January this year.

That means the man in the footage is clearly a ghost that is haunting our samosas.

The reply from the restaurant said: "Hi Lucy, sorry to hear this. This footage was recorded last week."

The video has since gone viral and has been viewed 38,000 times.

They say all publicity is good publicity, even if your restaurant is apparently haunted.

Lucy dismissed the 'ridiculous conspiracy theories' arising on social media about the video, saying: "It annoyed me when they sent a message back saying it was filmed last week. It can't have been."

She went on to accuse Spice Cottage of deliberately using old footage as a publicity stunt, but the restaurant later posted another comment on the now-viral video insisting it was filmed recently.

"I am writing on behalf of Spice Cottage as one of the managers," the comment said.

"In regards to the incident regarding the Lucy Watson comment and her interview, we would like to clarify some misunderstandings.

"I run the social media side of the business and recorded a promotional video to portray our new wooden tables and interior refurbishment.

"The refurbishment was completed in early January 2023 and the promotional video highlights these changes.

"Before January 2023, all of our tables were covered by white and red cloths, henceforth it is evident this footage is recent. This is a very unusual situation and we hope this clarifies any confusion."

Not really, pal.

But, according to another comment on the post, Lucy Watson appears to be very much mistaken.

Kiera Doherty, who claims to be Harry's daughter, commented: "The person Lucy Watson is mentioning was my dad, Harry, and my brother.

"This is 100 percent not him."

Well, it looks like another case of a doppelgänger. Or wishful thinking. Or Lucy has sixth sense and can see dead people.
