A Texas doctor has made history after impressively performing a vasectomy powered by his electric vehicle.
While vasectomies have gone through the roof following the overturning of Roe v Wade, it’s not every day you hear a story like this.
Driving reported that urologist Dr Christopher Yang performed the medical procedure powered by his four-month-old Rivian R1T pickup truck after his clinic suffered a power outage.

However, when a staff member jokingly suggested that Dr Yang should perform the vasectomy while using the car’s onboard power generator, he seriously considered it.
Dr Yang revealed via Twitter that one patient, in particular, didn’t want to reschedule his appointment as he had already taken time off.
He also told NPR's WGLT: “When talking to the patient, we mentioned that we could just reschedule the procedure itself, or, if he was up for it, we could do the vasectomy using power from the truck. And he had a good laugh as well, and we agreed.”

Dr Yang was initially concerned that his Rivian R1T wouldn’t have enough power to conduct the operation, so he devised a backup plan to use his handheld cautery unit.
But luckily, he didn’t need it as the power lasted for 20 minutes.
Stunned that the procedure went seamlessly, Dr Yang admitted that he and his patient had a good chuckle about the ordeal after.
“After we were done, I told his family. We all had a good laugh together too,” Yang said.

Shortly after the miracle doctor announced that he had performed the awe-inspiring electric surgery via Twitter, he left users astounded.
One person wrote: “See - I told everyone that CA has a golden EV-powered future.”
Another joked: “Patient could have bought a tesla and professed his love for Elon and accomplished the same thing with no pain.”
A third person commented: “Making Austin proud @ChrisYangMD. Wonder if that was you that absolutely blew me on MoPac the other day.”
