Two 'dine and dash' punters named and shamed at same pub where family fled from paying £215 bill

The Fisherman's Arms in Newlyn, Cornwall, say they have yet again fallen victim to a couple of shameless punters who were accused of walking out without paying the bill.

A couple of months ago one family left without paying a £215 bill on Father's Day (18 June), and now two women have been have been accused of doing a runner at very same pub.

Taking to X (Twitter) on Monday (25 September), The Fisherman's Arms complained about what went down at their restaurant.

"Here we go again!!!" the admin complained, referencing the incident on Father's Day.

Back in June, the manager of The Fisherman's Arms explained how one of the men from the family approached the bar and asked how much the bill had come to.

"One of them came up to the bar, had a look at the bill and said the women were in the toilet," Lucy told The Mirror.

"He said they were going out for a cigarette and would come back to settle up, but they left.

"The women weren't in the toilet, they had already left."

In a statement, Devon and Cornwall Police added: “Police are aware of an incident where it is alleged that a group of people left The Fisherman’s Arms in Newlyn without paying their bill, late afternoon on Sunday 18 June."

Now, in their X post on Monday, The Fisherman's Arms shared two photos of the women who allegedly left without paying the bill.

"These two belters did a runner tonight without paying," they wrote.

LADbible has contacted Devon and Cornwall Police for comment.

Following the dine and dash incident in June, Lucy added: "It's just quite disappointing – we only opened seven months ago.

"They came in, racked up a huge bill and walked out. They had lots of cocktails, food, starters, mains and pudding.

"We would love it if they came back in and paid, but I don't know if it's going to happen. We also want other businesses to be aware so that no one else gets stung."

She said: "They are not from round here, you want to trust people, but this wasn't an accidental walk-off.

"You can see one of the men shushing the other as they walk away on the CCTV."
