Laurence Fox breaks silence after ‘unacceptable’ comments about female journalist sees him suspended

The GB News journalist has been suspended over the comments he made about a female journalist which are now being assessed by Ofcom.

Laurence Fox has spoken out after he was suspended by GB News for making disrespectful comments about a female journalist.

During the interview with Dan Wootton, Fox launched into a vicious attack on Ava Evans, a political journalist at Joe.

The former actor said he was disgusted by Evans' views and said he wouldn't go anywhere near her, and neither would any man.

You can listen to his shocking comments below:

"Show me a single self-respecting man that would like to climb into bed with that woman ever...who wasn't an incel...who wasn't a cucked, little incel," Fox said.

He branded her a 'little woman' who was 'pathetic' and 'embarrassing'.

Wootton giggled as Fox's shared his awful comments, and later the broadcaster tried to rectify the horrible statement.

"I'm just going to provide a touch of balance for her, because she did actually respond to this earlier today saying that she regretted her comments, but she didn't apologise," Wootton said.

"And she's a very beautiful woman, Laurence, a very beautiful woman."

Following the incident, Fox and GB News received a huge wave of criticism, with viewers saying they were outraged by his comments on Tuesday night (26 September).

On Wednesday morning, GB News released a statement on X - formerly known as Twitter - confirming that Fox had been suspended.

"GB News has formally suspended Laurence Fox while we continue our investigation into comments he made on the channel last night," the statement reads.

"Mr Fox's suspension is effective immediately and he has been taken off air.

"We will be apologising formally to Ms Evans today."

Fox quoted the GB News statement on X with his own response on the matter and he clearly isn't too pleased with how it's all going down.

"A phone call might have been polite," he declared.

"By matter of interest for the audience contributors do a pre interview before going on, so they knew exactly what I intended to say.

A spokesperson for the body said: "We can confirm we've received a number of complaints about comments made by Laurence Fox on GB News last night.

"We are assessing these complaints against our broadcast rules and will publish the outcome as quickly as possible."
