People have been left in awe of two children's good deed on Halloween.

People have been left in awe of two children's good deed on Halloween.

When I was little, I remember coming back from a hard day's work trick-or-treating, my pumpkin pot full to the brim with sweets and treats, only for my mum to swiftly nab the bag from my hand and pour it out into another box - we'd run out of our own candy for children who were coming knocking.

Cue floods of tears.

However, two children - who are clearly much more gracious and generous than I was aged eight - have received widespread praise for their act of goodwill this spooky season.

Taking to Facebook, Jodie Laithy posted a video taken from her Ring.com doorbell camera from last night, 31 October.

The video shows a pair of boys approaching the spookily decorated house, only to find there are no sweets left in the bowl.

"Someone's taken them," one of the children exclaims.

However, rather than storming off or sulking, the boy grabs his own plastic bag full of treats and donates them to the bowl so other children who come by won't be disappointed.

The other boy swiftly joins in and the pair wave at the camera, wishing Jodie a 'Happy Halloween' before trotting off to the next house.

Jodie's post reads: "I don’t know who these two boys are but how cute are they.

"We left a bowl of sweets out for the kids while we were out and because it was empty they put some of their own sweets in it."

Jodie told the Liverpool Echo she hoped that in posting the video on social media she could track down the parents of the children so they could see 'how amazing their children are'.

Jodie hopes the boys' mum will see the video.

While the boys' parents have yet to come forward, Jodie notes she hopes they do eventually see the video and 'are proud of them'.

"I didn’t expect that from two young lads, amazing they are.

"And their little wave and 'happy Halloween' was the cutest thing ever," Jodie reflected.

Viewers of the video were left in awe of the two boys.

The video has amassed over 100,000 views and thousands of likes, with viewers having flooded to the post in awe of the boy's heartwarming gesture.

One user said: "Love that ! So lovely well done to those young lads."

"Awww I know them jode how lovely is that," another wrote.

A third commented: "Awww this made me cry."

With Christmas now fast approaching, I think we can all be pretty certain the two boys are definitely going to make it onto Santa's 'Nice' list.
