Study reveals women are being bullied into sending nude photos

A new study has indicated that a large chunk of women feel berated into sending naked photos of themselves to their lovers.

Researchers from the University of Nebraska wanted to know why women send racy pics, so they decided to, you know, ask them.

What the survey found was that more than one-third of participants reported feeling it was 'an obligation'.

Other ladies told the study that they felt 'pressure' to sent the sexy snaps, or were being 'repeatedly asked for it until [they] gave in'.

Thankfully, 'relationship norm expectation', was found to be the most common motivation.

Of all the respondents. 35.3 per cent agreed it was now the done thing.

The research, published in the journalof Computers in Human Behavior, interviewed more than 207 women between ages 19 and 27.

All had admitted admitted they had sent at least one nude in their lifetime.

Researchers note that women were 'acutely aware' of what they were doing when sending the saucy images.

"Women frequently send sexualised nude images to men, but women's motivations for sending nudes are unclear," the researchers said.

"We find that women are not thoughtlessly sending images of their bodies to others, but rather are acutely aware of their motivations."

Wow, who knew women could make decisions all on their own. Groundbreaking.

While a significant portion of surveyed participants felt pressured, other motivations varied.

According to the New York Post, one woman revealed she likes to take them to embrace her autonomy while also finding it ‘empowering’.

"I wanted to exert a sense of power over the men I sent nudes to; I could make them desire me and they would do anything to get a picture," she said.

While others said they hit the send button to get 'aroused'.

Around 20.8 per cent said they had done so because their partner had ‘asked’, and 17.4 per cent revealed it was because of a 'long-term relationship'.

It was also discovered that 14 per cent had snapped themselves in their birthday suit purely for 'validation'.

So, no matter the reason for sending any sort of risqué shots, keep it consensual, folks.

Ladies, it doesn't matter why you send them: do what you want on that front.

And fellas, don't ask until she gives in. No means no.

So it’s ok to snap a pic or several; just make sure it’s consensual, folks!
