The creator of the most popular Netflix series of all time has responded to the 'real life' Squid Game videos being created by YouTubers. Watch below:
While many versions of the dystopian South Korean series have been attempted by people far and wide, YouTuber MrBeast has easily caught the most attention after he spent millions of dollars rebuilding the entire set - from the stacked bunk beds to the red light, green light arena and even the VIP's viewing room.

Hwang Dong hyuk, the creator of Squid Game, was asked about the influx of videos at the 2021 Gotham Awards on 29 November and his response was brilliant.
As seen in a TikTok video uploaded by @zymonzz, most likely referring to MrBeast's version, the reporter asked Hwang Dong: "What do you think of YouTube gamers out there that are creating their own Squid Games?"
With a big grin on his face, Hwang Dong responded: "I watched some of it."
Whilst laughing to himself, he added: "It helped me to promote the show too so more people view it."

The YouTuber recreated each of the six challenges - intricately building sets of Red Light, Green Light, the marbles arena, the tug of war and the glass hop game.
He also managed to get 456 players to take part, going head to head in the hope of claiming the $456,000 (£341,000) jackpot.
But it's not just the contestants who made a killing from it.
In less than 24 hours, the video has been viewed 30,097,332, and it looks like Mr Beast, real name Jimmy Donaldson, has already made an absolute packet.

According to reports, YouTubers generally make between $2 (£1.50) and $5 (£3.75) for every 1,000 views on a video.
And if you calculate that for the top end of his potential earnings, Donaldson looks to have made a grand total of £112,864 ($150,486) in just one day.
The viral vid is now up to 145,569,237 views... so yeah, I'm pretty sure he's made his money back.
But according to Donaldson, the money he makes will all be ploughed back into his Xbox and more content.

Speaking to Logan Paul earlier this year, he explained that he doesn't actually take a lot of money from his channel.
He told him: "Well if I make $3-4 million a month, I just spend it on videos and Xbox.
"We literally have razor thin margins, and then just reinvest it all."
A taken-aback Paul then said: "That's wild! Is that ever dangerous? Does a video not ever yield the return you were expecting?"

Donaldson responded: "Yeah a ton of them."
