Christian Horner’s accuser has been suspended following Red Bull investigation into him

The person who accused Christian Horner of 'inappropriate behaviour' has been suspended on full pay, PA understands.

Christian Horner's accuser at Red Bull has been suspended following the company's investigation into 'inappropriate behaviour' against the F1 racing team principal.

PA news agency reports that Horner's accuser has been suspended on full pay.

A Red Bull spokesperson said: "We are unable to comment as it is an internal matter."

The 50-year-old Red Bull racing principal has remained in his role, and has said he is 'absolutely confident' he would remain with the team for the rest of the season.

PA understands that the female member of staff who made the accusations against Horner reported for work on Monday (4 March) and has been suspended as a result of an enquiry into the matter.

They report that she is believed to have received a legal letter telling her she had five working days to appeal the result of the investigation.

When Horner was cleared of 'inappropriate behaviour' on 28 February, Red Bull made a statement on the matter where they said there was a right to appeal.

They said: "The independent investigation into the allegations made against Mr Horner is complete, and Red Bull can confirm that the grievance has been dismissed. The complainant has a right of appeal.

"Red Bull is confident that the investigation has been fair, rigorous and impartial.

"The investigation report is confidential and contains the private information of the parties and third parties who assisted in the investigation, and therefore we will not be commenting further out of respect for all concerned. Red Bull will continue striving to meet the highest workplace standards."

Christian Horner has said he intends to continue at Red Bull for the season.

Horner also released a personal statement not involved with Red Bull Racing following the release of hundreds of messages alleged to be between the 50-year-old and and the complainant were leaked.

He said: "I won’t comment on anonymous speculation, but to reiterate, I have always denied the allegations.

"I respected the integrity of the independent investigation and fully cooperated with it every step of the way.

"It was a thorough and fair investigation conducted by an independent specialist barrister and it has concluded, dismissing the complaint made. I remain fully focused on the start of the season."

Christian Horner has always denied the allegations made against him and insisted he plans to continue in his position at Red Bull.

Horner is currently in Saudi Arabia for the weekend's Formula One race due to be held there.
