Rangers Fan Distraught After Being Kicked Off Flight Ahead Of Europa League Final

Many Rangers fans are setting off to Seville for the Europa League Final against Eintracht Frankfurt tomorrow night

Six Rangers fans were reportedly kicked off a Ryanair plane to Seville ahead of the Europa League Final against Eintracht Frankfurt tomorrow night. Watch below:

It seems a number of rowdy passengers were removed off the flight from Manchester to Faro, Portugal, according to The Scottish Sun.

Social media footage appears to show one particular fan who seems to be absolutely distraught that he'll miss seeing his team play in their first European final since 2008, and was filmed standing on the tarmac with his hands on his head.

The plane had to be diverted mid-air and after landing in Nantes, France at 7.44pm, five passengers were removed and led off in handcuffs.

French authorities reportedly said that the five fans who were removed from the flight in Nantes were released by officers who were with them for a short time.

There was no formal custody period or charges, and the flight continued to Faro and landed at 10.04pm.

One eyewitness reportedly said: “It was absolutely appalling behaviour from the moment they started getting smashed in the airport ahead of the flight.

“Watching it unfold was completely embarrassing – the elderly woman needed oxygen during the flight.

“She was taken off the aircraft, but later a couple of the Rangers fans were removed she was allowed back on board.

“It was completely sickening to witness – people so drunk and stupid on a packed airplane at 35,000 feet.

“They just ignored everything they were told. The flight attendants did their best, but they would not listen at all.”

A spokesperson for Ryanair told LADbible: "A small number of disruptive passengers were removed from this Manchester to Faro flight (16 May).

"One passenger was removed prior to departure, and following a diversion to Nantes, a further 5 disruptive passengers were removed and met by police on arrival.

"Separately, another passenger who required medical attention onboard quickly recovered, did not require further medical attention, and continued to Faro.

"Following a short delay of approx. 1hr15mins in Nantes, this flight continued to Faro where it landed safely at 22:04.

"Ryanair apologies sincerely to passengers for the inconvenience caused by this delay."

This year's Europa League final will be held at Sevilla's Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium, which has a capacity of just over 42,000.

For those living in the UK, the match takes place on Wednesday, 18 May, and will be kicking off at 8pm.
