Prince Harry claims Diana would be 'heartbroken' as he admits he is to blame for royal rift with William

Prince Harry claims Diana would be 'heartbroken' as he admits he is to blame for royal rift with William

He said William and Kate viewed Meghan as a 'divorced biracial American actress', but claimed he and his wife never called anyone racist.

Prince Harry has admitted that he is to blame for falling out with his brother Prince William, as he continues to unleash on the Royal Family in interviews and in his tell-all memoir, Spare.

Ahead of the book's release on January 10, the Duke of Sussex sat down with US ABC journalist Michael Strahan to share his side of the story again.

He revealed on Good Morning America that his late mother Princess Diana would be 'heartbroken' by the rift between he and William, of Megxit, and the whole relationship breakdown between him and his family.

"I think she would be sad. I think she'd be looking at it long term to know that there are certain things that [William and I] need to go through to be able to heal the relationship."

"I think she would be heartbroken over the fact that William, his office were part of these stories and William and I made a pact."

The Duke of Sussex then accused William's staffers of breaking a longstanding pact between the pair after the brothers vowed they would never set their offices against one another, 'no matter what'.

Despite his claims against his brother, Prince Harry also admitted that he is at fault for how things turned out.

When asked if he accepts any blame for the Megxit situation and following fallout, he replied: "Without question."

"The only way I can protect us, is to write something - the truth in one place," he said.

He added: "I accept writing a book is feeding the beast anyway."

But he insisted that he has tried to mend the burnt bridges between himself and his royal family members.

"What people don't know is the efforts that I've gone to to resolve this privately both with my brother and with my father," he said.

The Duke of Sussex went on to hurl further accusations against the British press, claiming there was 'never' a 'Fab Four' with him, his wife, Kate and William as they never got on in the first place.

"There has always been this competition between [William and I], weirdly," he said.

Harry added of the press: "They pitched the Waleses, which Kate and William are now, against the Sussexes, me and my wife."

In an interview with iTV, he claimed William and Kate viewed Meghan Markle as a 'divorced biracial American actress', before adding that he and Meghan never accused any of the royals of being racist.
