A creepy deleted scene from The Batman has been released where Robert Pattinson's Batman comes face to face with Barry Keoghan's Joker. Watch below:

The eerie clip, which wasn't included in Matt Reeves' final cut, has sent shockwaves through the DC universe as arguably the baddest supervillain of all time makes an appearance.

Ever since the late Heath Ledger's Oscar winning rendition of the character in 2008 transformed the way bad guys were perceived in comic book films, there's been a lot to live up to.

Joaquin Phoenix unanimously did a pretty amazing job in his performance of Joker in 2019 and was also rewarded with an Oscar.

Jared Leto notably played the part in 2016's Suicide Squad but it was, for sure, not as dark as the others.

Now, we get a first real glimpse of Keoghan, who certainly seems to look and sound the part for the meantime.

Warner Bros.

We definitely noticed some Clarice/Hannibal vibes as Pattinson's Batman interrogates the Joker and tried to get more information on Paul Dano's Riddler.

Notably, Reeves's film isn't short of other iconic Batman villains. Both the Penguin and Carmine Falcone appear in the movie, played by Colin Farrell. and John Turturro respectively. Anti-hero Selina Kyle, better known as Catwoman, also has a starring role, portrayed this time by Zoë Kravitz.

However, there's no doubt that the Joker will forever grab people's attention.

Warner Bros.

One user commented: "The way he slowly revealed his grotesquely damaged mouth as he got more and more menacing and showed the depth of his insanity.

"My goodness. Brilliant cinematography and acting. Answering riddles correctly has never been so worth it."

Another wrote: "Just as sinister as I expected him to be.

"The perfect characterisation for the Joker of this universe."

A third, very excited, fan added: "This is a masterpiece. We need an extended movie of this masterpiece called The Batman. Love this scene. I watched this movie like five times.

"Still a 10/10 movie. Please release the director's cut. This is truly a masterpiece. The riddles, the dynamic between Joker and Batman is freaking amazing."

Well, for those still not seen the movie yet, first of all, what are you doing with your life?

Second of all, here's the synopsis: "Batman ventures into Gotham City's underworld when a sadistic killer leaves behind a trail of cryptic clues.

"As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator's plans become clear, he must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued the metropolis."
