A woman has revealed her neighbour's response after she asked him to stop pointing a CCTV camera into her younger sister's bedroom.
The woman took to Reddit to share screengrabs of the messages, in which she asks the man to please remove his camera as it was impacting their right to privacy.
The thread begins when the woman explained that up until recently, the view into her sister's room was blocked by some bamboo trees, which had since been removed.

With the bamboo gone, she explained that the device was pointing directly into their backyard and specifically her sister's bedroom.
In response, the neighbour replied saying he would be happy to show them that the camera has 'absolutely no view' into their property.
The woman responded: "Could you send me a screenshot of the view?
"It looks to me as if it's pointed directly into our backyard and there's only like 1-2 feet of distance between our fence and your house and I don't see how it could be viewing that."

Things then took a bit of a sour turn, with the man asking if it was coincidence that the neighbour had sent the message the day after he had asked them to turn music down in the middle of the night.

The woman apologised for this and said she had spoken to her sister who said she wouldn't do it again.
But seemingly ignoring the apology, the man then replied, pointing the woman to local laws, implying he could use a camera unless it pointed to an area where privacy would be expected.
"Yes, the interior of her bedroom is visible from that camera," she explained.
"I'm well aware of the law. The camera is visible from her bed. It's a reasonable request to not have a camera pointed into our backyard or her bedroom."

The messages intensified and the man suggested he put her in touch with a landscaper who could erect a hedge.
"However, my security camera which is perfectly legal, isn't moving an inch," he added.
The woman responded contesting the man's claims, reiterating that the camera points into her sister's room and asking whether he would be happy with someone 'recording your children in their bedroom'.

At the end of the exchange, the man - who seemed pretty furious at this point - responded: "Now go away little girl".
Yikes.
People had a lot of thoughts, with many adamant that the woman was correct.
One wrote: "Anybody that doesn’t have bad intentions would never EVER respond this way to a confrontation like this."
While another suggested: "You should absolutely be calling the police about this. Look up your city's non-emergency line. They will come visit your house, check out the camera, and see if there's anything that can be done. And in the meantime put curtains up immediately and don't open them until this is resolved."
