Jonathan Ross says Matt Hancock is a 'horrible human being’ and he will never interview him

Matt Hancock won't be going on Jonathan Ross' show after he's done with the jungle

Jonathan Ross has slammed Matt Hancock, branding him a 'horrible human being' and promising never to have him on for an interview once he's done with I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here.

Hancock is currently in a jungle in Australia being showered with bugs and scoffing down all sorts of disgusting dishes in a number of punishing Bushtucker Trials.

He was announced as a surprise campmate on the ITV show a few days after Rishi Sunak entered Downing Street, with the former health secretary being criticised by the new prime minister for his appearance on the show.

Stuck on the backbenches and in the political wilderness, the MP for West Suffolk instead went onto I'm A Celeb in a move which has proved incredibly controversial.

Perhaps hoping that if he chomps his way through enough camel penis it'll either rehabilitate his political career or help him launch a new one on TV, Hancock has been consistently voted into a series of Bushtucker Trials by the public.

Thousands have petitioned for him to be removed from the show before it even began, with the appeal being started by the families of those who had lost people during the pandemic.

They have argued that tens of thousands of people died unnecessarily during that time and that as health secretary for much of the pandemic, Hancock shares some of the responsibility.

There are plenty who have voiced opposition to Hancock going into the jungle and now Jonathan Ross has joined them.

Speaking to the Sunday People, the TV presenter and interviewer branded the politician as 'not a celebrity' and said he 'cannot bear the way people take no responsibility for their actions'.

Ross described Hancock as 'very bad when he was in office' and said the MP was 'even worse now he's out of it'.

If the MP was hoping to spin his I'm A Celeb time into further fame, it sounds like he won't be making it onto The Jonathan Ross Show.

Hancock has been discussing what he'll do once he leaves the jungle after I'm A Celeb, telling campmates he'd be releasing a book he'd written called Pandemic Diaries.

Detailing his time in the cabinet during the coronavirus pandemic, Hancock said his account 'tells the story straight' and would be a warts and all portrayal of the government's attempts to deal with Covid.

The politician also noted that there was still the matter of an inquiry into the government's handling of the pandemic to look forward to.

Ofcom have said they've received over 1,000 complaints from viewers about Hancock being on the show, with many people furious that he was even there at all.

A plane recently flew over the camp where the I'm A Celeb stars are staying, carrying a banner which read 'covid bereaved say get out of here' in a message clearly directed at the MP.

Meanwhile, someone rang up BBC Radio 2 to make a song request before taking the chance to call the politician a 'c**t', leading Sara Cox to apologise to listeners for the swear making it on air.

Matt Hancock's representatives said the MP 'hopes to raise the profile of his dyslexia campaign' while in the jungle and that he has been working on constituency matters while on the show.

They said: "Matt will be making a donation to St Nicholas Hospice in Suffolk, and causes supporting dyslexia - including the British Dyslexia Association, off the back of his appearance."
