Customer goes to Wakey Wines to confront them about the 'extortionate prices'

Customer goes to Wakey Wines to confront them about the 'extortionate prices'

"Bingo bingo!"

If you've not heard about Wakey Wines by now, what have you been doing with your life?

The viral corner shop has been all over the news the past few weeks after it started flogging bottles of Prime for hundreds of pounds.

If their TikTok and Instagram accounts are to be believed, people have been travelling the length and breadth of the country to get their hands on the popular energy drink.

One woman who visited the shop loves it so much that she forked out an incredible £1,200 on a crate of the stuff.

The standard price for bottles of the drink tends to be around £2, so that's quite the mark up.

Unsurprisingly, there's a lot of people who haven't taken it to well, with some criticising the shop for seemingly ripping people off.

And in a bid to get some answers, someone actually went down to Wakey Wines to see the owner, Mohammed Nazir, and ask him what's going on.

In a video posted to TikTok, the disgruntled customer can be seen charging into the off-licence to have a word with Mr Nazir.

However, as he enters the shop, it quickly becomes apparent that he's not around.

"Let's go confront Wakey Wines about extortionate prices," the man says.

"Yo, what's happening, lads? Where's boss man? Oh God, go get him for us, boss."

He then asks the other shopkeeper: "How do you sleep at night charging £20 for that Prime and £100 a can?"

To which the employee replies: "I sleep good, man."

At least he's honest, I guess.

After being told that the Mr Nazir is busy, he says: "What's he doing, counting all the Ps from f**king extortionate prices you're charging?"

But, unfortunately for the lad, he doesn't get anywhere, and eventually admits defeat and leaves.

Since the video was posted on TikTok, it's been viewed over 642,000 times, with hundreds of people piling into the comments to share their thoughts on the bizarre Wakey Wines saga.

And there were plenty who had no sympathy for anyone willing to pay over a grand on an energy drink.

Wakey Wines has allegedly been selling cans of Prime for £100.

"Confront the people buying it for that price," said one user.

Echoing the sentiment, another chipped in: "I have zero concern that he’s selling it for £20 a bottle.. I worry for the absolute tools that actually pay for it!"

Earlier today (9 January), Mr Nazir, who appears to run the controversial shop, told his customers that Wakey Wines was back on TikTok after being banned by the site yesterday (8 January).

Ever the salesman, he was soon back on the sales trail following the ban, this time with his WFD sweets - which he encouraged viewers to buy from him.

He said: "Hi everybody. This is my new account, WFD_sweets. Come and get my sweets. They've got me into a lot of trouble. Certain people have got me blocked,

"This is my ninth account. I'm gonna keep on going. Thank you for your support. Follow me."
