Fans are calling for Lewis Capaldi to pursue a career in comedy after he left audiences in stitches during his gig. Catch a look at his performance here:

Capaldi took to the stage in Dublin on Saturday, 25 June to play to a sold out crowd at Malahide Castle.

However, his 'insane' singing was nearly overshadowed, not by an unruly audience member or technical fault, but by his own jokes.

Calls have since been growing for the 'Someone You Loved' singer to pick up the mic for a bit of stand-up instead.

One TikTok user took to the platform to share the opening of Capaldi's gig.

The set opened with a picture of Capaldi, his hair wrapped in a towel, shades on and throwing up a peace sign with his hand.

Set to 'Boys Are Back In Town' by Thin Lizzy of course.

Another video shows Capaldi calling himself a 'lazy c**t' which is met with howls of laughter from the audience.

The singer continues: "I spent the majority of lockdown masturbating. At no point did I feel like I should take my hand off my penis."

Capaldi then joked that his mum was in the audience, before announcing he would be performing 'all of the old s***t' because of having no new music.

Capaldi is known for his humour being littered with strong language.

Earlier this year, his Brit Awards speech had to be heavily muted by ITV due to the amount of swearing in his address.
