Levi Davis' friend claims X Factor star has mysterious Instagram activity months after going missing

Levi Davis' friend claims X Factor star has mysterious Instagram activity months after going missing

He went missing last October and a friend says they keep seeing activity on his Instagram page

A friend of Levi Davis claims that they've seen Instagram activity from the missing X-Factor star months after he went missing.

Davis disappeared on 29 October last year, a few hours after arriving in Barcelona and hasn't been in touch with family or friends since then.

Nor has there been any activity from his bank accounts or on his phone, while in November his passport was found by police in Barcelona Port with officers dedicating 'a lot of work' to finding further trace of Davis.

Now, a friend of his has said she's occasionally seen him 'active' on Instagram, with Chantelle Small telling The Sun she sometimes saw that his account had been 'activated yesterday' or 'activated today'.

"I suggested to his family to work out who has access to it as well because it gives you false hope." She said, adding that she occasionally sends messages to him saying she hoped that he was okay.

"I try not to check every day because it's too painful but I hope he's just somewhere safe and hiding." Chantelle said.

"You got to still have a bit of hope. You got to try and think that maybe he's hiding, that's the only possible way to think about it."

Police divers are searching the port of Barcelona for traces of Davis, as while he was last seen exiting The Old Irish Pub in the city centre, his passport was found near the port and his phone was traced to a tower at the far end of the port.

Last month, Davis' mother confirmed that police were investigating reports of staff on board a cruise ship spotting a man in the water at around 6:30am on 30 October.

Four staff members on board the cruise ship said they saw a man in the water and that he asked for help in English.

They threw a lifejacket to the man and sea and air rescue services conducted a search but they were unable to find him.

Davis' mum Julie has said she doesn't know what to believe about her son's disappearance, and hit out at Spanish police last month for only recently revealing the information about what the cruise ship staff saw.

Saying it was 'disheartening' to be given 'very limited feedback', Julie said it had been a 'total emotional rollercoaster'.

She said: "Why is this information about the cruise ship staff only coming months later?

"I don’t know what to believe anymore. I know the Spanish police can be slow but I can’t make head nor tail of it."

"There’s lots of answers to questions that I need to know."

Police investigating his disappearance have previously said they don't believe that Levi went missing of his own volition.
