KSI has only made £3,000 from TikTok despite having over 10 million followers

KSI has only made £3,000 from TikTok despite having over 10 million followers

Despite making millions on other video platforms, KSI has revealed how he has only made £3,000 from TikTok.

KSI is one of the most popular content creators around, and while he started on YouTube - he has also ventured onto other websites such as TikTok to provide fans with content.

On the popular social media platform - which was previously the dancing app known as Musical.ly - KSI boasts an impressive 10.1 million followers.

While that is considerably less than his 16.1 million subscribers on his now main channel on YouTube, that is a number many can only dream of.

So with all those followers on TikTok, you'd expect KSI, real name Olajide Olatunji, to be making quite a bit of money from it.

Well, it is not as much as you'd expect, as the YouTube star revealed in a podcast with his group, The Sideman, earlier this year.

Speaking at the time when he had 9.2 million followers on the popular social media platform, KSI asked his fellow The Sideman members, Miniminter and TBJZL to guess.

Miniminter, real name Simon Minter, guessed that KSI earnt a lowly £1,600 - with TBJZL, real name Tobi Brown, guessed his fellow YouTube star earnt £2,100.

But for having over 70 million likes on TikTok, KSI revealed he had made £3,000 up to that point.

Miniminter pointed out that KSI had posted around 40 to 50 TikTok's, citing that social media creators who want to make a living from the platform post four to five videos every day.

KSI continues by saying that creators will 'slowly move to YouTube' to make the 'real money'.

Other content creators have discussed the money made on TikTok, including blogger Hank Green.

In a video titled 'So... TikTok sucks', Green said that based on estimates that per thousand views, he was making 2.5 cents based on adverts that viewers would have seen.

The vlogger added that he estimates TikTok makes anywhere between 30 and 60 percent in comparison, with the rest going elsewhere.

For KSI, the money he makes from TikTok is only a tiny portion of what the mega money he takes home every year.

Let's not forget KSI is not only just a YouTube star, but he has also launched a boxing and a music career in recent years.

According to Thrilling, the YouTube star has a net worth of $30 million (£24.8 million) - which he makes from YouTube, boxing, music, brand deals and merchandise.

That puts him ahead of singers such as Lewis Capaldi and George Ezra - so we doubt he will mind too much about that TikTok money.
