Killing Eve's Sandra Oh spotted at Queen's funeral

Killing Eve's Sandra Oh spotted at Queen's funeral

"I did not have Sandra Oh attending the Queen’s funeral on my 2022 bingo card"

People were shocked to see Killing Eve star Sandra Oh amongst the Canadian delegation at the Queen's funeral. Check it out:

The 51-year-old actress is best known for her role as Eve Polastri, the rogue MI6 Agent who gets caught up in a cat-and-mouse game with psychopathic assassin Villanelle (Jodie Comer).

It's perhaps for this reason people were perturbed to see the star walking down the halls of Westminster Abbey in what looks like a scene taken straight from the BBC series.

Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: "SANDRA OH CAMEO AT LIZZIES FUNERAL?"

They then shared a short clip of the moment, writing: "THE FACT IT'S NOT EVEN A JOKE."

Another said, "Sandra Oh is at the funeral ???? wtf man," while a third added, "I did not have Sandra Oh attending the queen’s funeral on my 2022 bingo card yet here we are."

A fourth chimed in: "Sandra Oh being at the Queen's funeral has me actual screaming, so random."

Although viewers at home might find it 'random' she's there, turns out there's a good reason behind it - and funnily enough it's because of Killing Eve.

You see, Oh - who was born in Canada - was given the honour of joining the North American country's delegation in June this year thanks to her incredible performance in the hit spy thriller series.

She was invited to join other nominated delegates in the procession of national honours as part of the hour-long service, which started at 11am today (19 September).

Alongside Oh, members of the Order of Canada included musician Gregory Charles and Olympic gold medallist swimmer Mark Tewksbury.

Leading the group was the country's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie.

The service arrives after the Queen's death at Balmoral Castle in Scotland on 8 September.

In the days leading up to the ceremony, events proceeded according to Operation London Bridge - the detailed plan of action for what to do when the Queen died.

Queen Elizabeth II passed away at the age of 96.

The final part of the plan is in effect today, with a state funeral held and national day of mourning which has also been declared a bank holiday.

In proceedings led by her son and heir King Charles III, more than 2,000 people personally paid their respects to the late Queen.
