Man brought back from the 'dead' describes being separated from his body

Man brought back from the 'dead' describes being separated from his body

Kevin Hill 'cheated death' after suffering from a rare disease that began eating at his liver

If you've never actually experienced the afterlife, as I'm fairly certain most of us have not, you probably don't have a clue what's to come, right?

Perhaps you imagine white, fluffy clouds and angels playing harps, with the main man, JC, there to welcome you through the pearly gates?

Well, one man claims to have come back from the dead, and has described exactly what he saw.

In 2021, Kevin Hill, from Derby, went to the doctors after his legs began to swell.

Eventually, after a year-long stay in hospital, which saw him lose 65kg of water weight, doctors determined that the swelling was caused by an issue with Kevin's heart valve.

After the operation to fix the problem, though, he caught a rare disease called calciphylaxis, which causes calcium to build up in blood vessels of fat and tissue.

The condition causes blistering and even began eating away at the 55-year-old's liver, leaving him in complete and utter agony.

And it go so bad for Kevin that he actually ended up losing five pints of blood and his heart even stopped.

Fortunately, doctors were able to resuscitate him, branding him the 'miracle man' for cheating death.

But the experience really left its mark on Kevin.

"I wasn't looking down at my body, but I was separate from my body," he recalled.

"It was like I was in the spirit realm - I was conscious of what was going on but I had so much peace.

"I knew I was bleeding. I knew it was serious. The staff kept coming in and out to stop the bleeding."

And if that wasn't strange enough, Kevin said that he could actually see the doctors trying desperately to save his life.

Luckily, doctors were able to revive him and he's now recovering well at home.

While you might expect him to have been scared, given the circumstances, he wasn't.

Kevin said: "I knew I had died. I was separate from my body.

"Then I just went to sleep and I woke up, alive and the bleeding had stopped. I knew it wasn't my time to die.

"The situation has made me refocus my priorities. When I came out of the hospital, my family atmosphere changed dramatically.

"I have become more resilient. I know I can bounce back."

Fortunately, after his traumatic experience, Kevin is recovering well and is back home with his wife, Camille, 52.

"I am in the final stages of recovery," he said. "In my right leg, I still have some pain but it is not near the level it used to be - I would cry for hours.

"My pain level used to be 100 out of 10 and now it had dropped to a four.

"Everyone said I should be dead."
