Coronation concert viewers say they're hungry for Quality Street after watching Katy Perry's performance

Katy Perry attended the coronation concert dressed as the toffee penny from Quality Street

Katy Perry has got coronation concert viewers hungry for Quality Street after plenty noticed that her dress bore a surprisingly similar resemblance to the popular tinned treats.

She was one of this evening's headlining acts at the Windsor Castle concert put on to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III.

However, during her performance at the coronation concert tonight (7 May), plenty of people couldn't take their eyes off her outfit and now, they want some Quality Street.

Personally, I'd say her dress looked most like a toffee penny out of those on offer, though your personal preference may vary.

Among viewers, one said they 'really want some Quality Street now' while another said Perry 'looks like a gorgeous Quality Street' and they 'absolutely love' her performance.

"I thought Katy Perry’s quality street dress was a vibe though." Someone else said, and frankly we're inclined to agree with them.

More wondered if the concert might have been even better had 'every artist dressed as their favourite sweet from a quality street tin'.

It left some viewers with 'a hankering for Quality Street' which just goes to show that people are basically ready to go out any buy a tin at a moment's notice.

Others thought there was some elaborate form of performance art in all of this, joking that Katy Perry was 'dressed as a quality street toffee penny singing about fireworks on the Fourth of July in front of the British monarchy'.

We can't really disagree that all of those things did indeed happen, but 'Firework' is a banger so we're sure that King Charles didn't mind.

People saying they were 'partial to a Quality Street' said they thought Perry 'looked awesome'.

The singer's dress was really doing a number on people's appetites as lots were asking whether 'anyone else dying for a Quality Street toffee penny'.

Sadly for Katy Perry's dress, the toffee penny is statistically the least loved Quality Street as it's pretty much the one that's always left rattling around at the bottom of the tin.

It might be your favourite, in which case you're welcome to them, but a somewhat informal poll found it to be the bottom of the tin.

Brits are well acquainted with the toffee penny whether through finding it delicious or because they've almost torn out their teeth trying to eat one.

Still, the question of the best Quality Street treat in the tin is a pretty controversial one and if people do go out and buy a tin after Katy Perry's performance there'll surely be a good old family scrap over the household favourites.
