Jeremy Clarkson says NHS is 'useless' and police only care if 'you get stabbed in a bus lane'

Jeremy Clarkson says NHS is 'useless' and police only care if 'you get stabbed in a bus lane'

Jeremy Clarkson thinks 'nothing in Britain works properly'

Jeremy Clarkson has launched into a scathing rant about the UK, calling the NHS 'useless' and saying that police only care if 'you get stabbed in a bus lane'.

The former Top Gear host has complained that 'nothing in this country is working properly' and the 63-year-old has left no one off his hit list, whether it be the NHS, the police, the transport system and even Big Ben.

In his latest column for The Sun, the Clarkson's Farm star ranted: "Even Big Ben has broken.

"They just spent 80million of our pounds restoring Britain’s most famous landmark.

"And it’s now as reliable as a 1973 Austin Allegro."

He also called the transport system 'hopeless', which happens to cause his 'shoulders to sag'.

"Back at the beginning of April, engineers noticed that a railway bridge over the Thames in Oxfordshire was becoming a bit wobbly," Clarkson complained.

"So they imposed a 5mph speed limit on the few trains that were running due to industrial action by the drivers.

"It then transpired that 5mph was still too fast so they announced the line would be closed while repairs were made."

Next up, he takes aim at the National Health Service - which he calls 'useless'.

"Then you’ve got the NHS, which is fantastic if you want to be addressed by the correct pronoun but there’s no getting round the fact that it’s pretty much useless if you need a doctor," writes Clarkson. "And you can only talk to a nurse if you are fluent in Latvian."

However, he wasn't finished there.

"The Police? Don’t get me started," he writes.

"If you get stabbed, they’ll only be interested if it happened in a bus lane.

"And if you’re burgled they will put you on hold until the end of time.

"Which, according to Big Ben, happens once every three or four days."

This follows on from last week's admission by No 10, which said a move to relax planning rules around setting-up farm shops is not targeted at the TV presenter's run-ins on his own agricultural land.

It comes as Clarkson finds himself embroiled in a row over his plans to allow greater visitor access to his farm and its attached shop.

In opening remarks shared by No 10, Rishi Sunak told representatives of the food industry: “We want to give British farmers greater freedoms to make the best use of their existing buildings, whether that’s for a Diddly Squat-style farm shop or a processing facility.

“So we’re going to consult on targeted changes to the planning system that enable exactly that and support our rural economy.”
