Jeremy Clarkson stunned as Who Wants To Be A Millionaire's contestant breaks 14-year record

One brilliant Who Wants To Be A Millionaire contestant stunned Jeremy Clarkson after breaking the British record for the fastest finger first round.

Michelle Brook wowed audiences and left host Jeremy Clarkson absolutely stunned as he couldn't believe someone could get the answer that quickly.

She managed to order all four answers correctly in an incredible time of 0.74 seconds, meaning she was able to get it spot on and smash a UK record which had stood since 2008.

Before Michelle broke the record, the fastest ever UK time on fastest finger first had been Jonathan Pash with 0.97 seconds on the clock.

She even managed to outdo the first person ever to break the one second barrier in the opening round of the show, which determines which lucky contestant sits in the hotseat and gets a chance to become a millionaire.

And all the way back in 2000, US contestant Shannon McGehee won her fastest finger first with a time of 0.87 seconds.

However, once in the big chair, Michelle did better than either of them as they'd both crashed out early after failing to get more than the first five questions correct.

For her part, Michele walked away with £32,000 after setting her safety net at £64,000 but not wanting to risk losing most of her money.

And it turned out to be a wise decision, as her question over which food the natural colourant 'annatto' was added to had left her stumped.

The correct answer turned out to be Red Leicester cheese, in case you were wondering.

It may have broken the British record for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, but a couple of other contestants around the world have managed to be even faster than Michelle.

The fastest ever recorded winner of fastest finger first is Emilia Busquets, who won the round on the Spanish version of the show in 1999 with a time of just 0.06 seconds.

However, her question was just a case of picking the right answer quicker than anyone else rather than putting four in order, so she might just have picked the correct one randomly.

Michelle would have to be much quicker to beat the fastest ever time on putting four answers in the right order, which was set by Gaetano Marra of Italy back in 2002 when he got it in just 0.24 seconds.

Maybe he just guessed, or perhaps he's just a super speedy quiz fanatic.
