1-5 adult test can determine whether you have ADHD

1-5 adult test can determine whether you have ADHD

These six TikTok questions could be used to tell if you may have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder

With society rightly continuing to break down taboos surrounding both learning difficulties and mental health, it's no surprise that the amount of people being diagnosed with ADHD each year is sky-rocketing.

But this isn't something to fear.

In fact, with more accurate diagnoses being given comes more vital research into the causes, symptoms and treatments available for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

And one TikTok user is making it his personal ambition to raise awareness of the different ways that ADHD can present itself to adults.

According to the NHS, ADHD is a condition that affects people's behaviour, and people with ADHD can seem restless, may have trouble concentrating and act on impulse.

Being that it is generally easier to diagnose a child with the condition than it is an adult, many people might be suffering with some hard-to-handle symptoms that they could easily get help for if they received a diagnosis.

Therefore, @usamedical has created a video that poses a set of question designed to help indicate if you may have adult ADHD.

"This adult ADHD test is proven to reveal whether or not you might have ADHD," he tells viewers. "Take this test with me and score every answer from 1-5 (1 Never, 5 Always), keeping track of your total score."

He then asks a series of questions:

1) How often do you have trouble wrapping up the final details of a project?

2) How often do you have difficulty keeping things in order when you have to?

3) How often do you have trouble remembering appointments or obligations?

4) When you have a task that requires lots of thought, how long will you delay that task?

5) How often do you fidget or squirm with your hands?

6) How often do you feel overly active or compelled to do things, as if you were driven by a motor?

Despite some viewers joking that the TikTok user flew through his questions far too quickly, others heaped praise onto him for raising ADHD awareness.

Others posted their scores in the comment section, comparing answers.

"Is it possible to be ADD without the H? I get 5 on everything but the hyperactive part," one viewer admitted.

Another commented: "I think my score was like 4973622640".

"5 5 4 3 5 3 do I have ADHD?" a third asked.

Different medical facilities around the world have varying tests used to gauge whether or not something has the condition.

Last week, psychiatrist and therapist, Dr. Melissa Shepard, took to TikTok to share with her 1.6 million followers the questions she asks her patients when assessing them for ADHD.

Why not validate your answers by using her 17 questions to get a clearer answer as to whether you could have ADHD?
