Hardworking mum says she won't quit her job after winning $34 million in the lottery

Hardworking mum says she won't quit her job after winning $34 million in the lottery

Three people have won their share of millions, including one person who has yet to discover they've been blessed by Lady Luck.

Three Australians will split the epic AUD$100 million (£562 million) Powerball jackpot, with each of them heading into the new year AUD$33 million (£18.5 million) richer.

Australia's Powerball lotto finished 2022 with a bang for three lucky duckies, with two division one winning entries drawn in New South Wales and one from Queensland.

Two people in NSW and one Queensland woman were blessed by Lady Luck on December 29.

But it was the mum from Durack in the Sunshine State that had a bizarre admission when she was asked about her future plans.

"I’ll keep working as I love it," she said.

“This is an amazing end to the year. Dreams really do come true."

She was the ultimate winner of the night, scooping up not only the division one prize, but also the division two prize a whopping 19 times.

That brought her hip pocket up to a healthy AUD$34,234,773.14 (£19,245,146.19).

Not bad for a Christmas gift she bought for herself.

“I just jumped to the roof and screamed! The kids thought a cockroach was in the kitchen," she said.

“This will definitely change our lives. This will not only help my family but also help us move forward with a better life.

“Wow! This is going to be fantastic! It’s going to make a huge difference. I’m lost for words."

A man in Burwood, NSW, was the next lucky person to receive a call from Powerball and he did not hold back.

"Are you f***ing kidding me!? Jesus Christ," he exclaimed.

A Sydney dad has told officials that his head was spinning at life’s possibilities after the massive win.

He then apparently lost it, with a Lott official revealing he started yelling down the phone.

“We can do whatever we want," he screamed.

Bit excited there, mate. Then again, he's just become a multi-millionaire.

But there is one more. One more ticket still out there. One more major prize.

So if you bought a Powerball ticket online and haven't cashed it yet, you'd better hop down and check quick-smart.

Lotto officials haven't been able to reach the ticket holder either, with almost AUD$33 million hanging in the balance.

But, never fear as we have the winning numbers here.

So if you participated in the Powerball draw 1389 on Thursday 29 December 2022, this is what you need to know.

The winning numbers were 9, 26, 4, 23, 22, 6 and 24 with the all-important Powerball number the number 18.

If that's you, it's time to cash in, baby.

In total, there were 22 Powerball division one winning entries across Australia in 2022, with winners taking home more than AUD$764 million (£429 million) in prize money.

NSW certainly seems to be the state that fate has smiled upon this year, with 13 people winning division one in the state.
