Expert shares biggest mistake people make when going to a theme park

Many people love going to theme parks - but nobody likes have to queue up for hours to get onto the rides.

However, one 'theme park expert' has offered up a solution to help thrill seekers cut down on queue times and make the most out of their rollercoasters.

So, if you are frequent theme-park goer, this might be one to add to your list.

Mark Forrest visits theme parks across the UK and documents it all on his TikTok channel, @DisneyMark.

Teaming up with Blackpool Pleasure Beach, he offered some tips to amusement park fanatics on how to get on as many rides as possible.

Forrest advised that park visitors be mindful of their time - and not use lunch hours to eat as is usually done.

Instead, theme park patrons should use that time to their advantage and hop on as many log flumes and rides as they can, whilst others are eating.

He said: "If you didn’t manage to get to the park when the doors open, then consider saving the biggest rides for lunchtime.

"Most guests visit eateries during the hours of 12 and 2pm, so this is a good time to head to some of the bigger rides on the park."

Forrest also notes that queue times in Pleasure Beach also see a dip between 12 and 1, meaning that every hour counts when it comes to cutting down waiting times.

And Oliver Brandon, the CEO of AttractionTickets.com, agreed with Forrest's assessment.

He said: "Come lunchtime, there’s likely to be a bigger queue for your food than there is for the rides.

"If you can plan an early lunch, or bring snacks and take a later break, this is the perfect time to head to some of the most popular rides which tend to have queues all day long."

Brandon also suggested that guests think of alternative ways of navigating the park: "Most people start at the front of the park and work their way around.

"However, flipping your route and starting with the rides at the back of the park could mean you avoid those pesky queue times - especially if the park has only been open for a couple of hours."

Theme park tester, Alexandria Adamson, also suggested that guests keep the theme park's app handy, as they will often be alerted to short queues.

She said: "Before you head to a park, check what apps you may need. Most of the parks have their own apps to help you navigate during your time there and make the most of it!

"You can find useful information like wait times and maps, as well as the entertainment and food on offer."
