Everyday iPhone function that people have only just discovered will make your life so much easier

Everyday iPhone function that people have only just discovered will make your life so much easier

This function will stop you from endlessly returning to the home screen.

If you're an iPhone user, chances are that the device is an important part of your everyday life.

You therefore probably think that you're pretty well-versed in its features, but there's one that you likely won't know about - and it's a total game-changer. Check it out below:

News of the feature has recently been doing the rounds on social media and it's left a lot of iPhone users with their minds blown.

User @sidneyraz shared news of the feature, describing it as something they 'didn't know until I was in my 30s.'

Seriously, this is one hack that could save you a lot of time, and it's all to do with your home screen, which iPhone users frequently find themselves returning to.

This is because you need to go back to the home screen if you want to use a different app... or do you?

Well, it turns out that the iPhone has a seemingly hidden function that lets users scroll between apps, and it could save you a tonne of time.

All you have to do is go to the bottom of the screen, in which you will see a long, thin bar that you've probably assumed - like me, for example - was simply a means to get back to the home screen.

But it actually does a lot more than that and if you swipe it, you'll see that you can easily change between apps.

If my iPhone is anything to go by, the swipes will take you to your most recently used apps depending on when they were last used, and that does make a lot of sense.

As you can imagine, this hack has gone far from unnoticed on social media, where users have been quick to praise the feature - and question how nobody seemed to know about it until now.

Reacting to the feature, one viewer simply wrote: "This is blowing my mind."

"AHGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHGG," added a second in surprise while a third wrote: "I was today years old."

"What the actual f**k how didn't I do it like accidentally [sic]," questioned a fourth.

It looks like quite a few iPhone users didn't know anything about the feature.

However, it turns out that some iPhone users did already know about the feature, and one seemed particularly pleased with themselves, writing: "I've been using this feature for yeaaaaars now!"

A second questioned: "It's like [an] old feature of the phone how do people not know this [sic]."

What do you think of the swipe feature? Will it be shaking up your iPhone ways for good or will you stick to endlessly returning to the home screen?
