Eminem says there's another version of his iconic hit Lose Yourself that he doesn't remember recording

In 2014, Eminem fans were sent into a frenzy over the revelation of a 'scratch' version of 'Lose Yourself'.

'Lose Yourself' was first released over 20 years ago as part of the soundtrack to biographical film 8 Mile.

Despite people who like the song being found more likely to be psychopaths, 'Lose Yourself' is one of Eminem's most popular tracks, with fans having gone wild at the Super Bowl Halftime show when Eminem performed the song alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige.

However, would the performance still have been the 'greatest Super Bowl Halftime show ever' if a different version of the track had been played?

In a video uploaded to YouTube channel 'EminemMusic' in 2014, the rapper explained there's another version of 'Lose Yourself' that he doesn't 'even remember recording'.

He continued: "I don't remember where I was at when I recorded it.

"I don't remember any of the first verse. I don't remember."

The video teased the 'scratch' version, playing a clip which begins: "If I was frozen inside of a moment/If I could capture time inside a capsule."

The caption reads: "The full story behind 'Lose Yourself' coming soon."

Fans immediately flooded to the comments itching to hear the never-before-heard release.

One wrote: "Damn, now I really wanna hear the full version of the parts of "Lose Yourself" that never made the cut!!!"

"Good f**king God. One of his best songs could possibly be about to get better," another said.

A third added: "I love.the idea of a hidden masterpiece by Eminem, he is by far one if the best rappers to date, you don't see him get over hyped by "the game" he just makes raps about him, I just really want this track it sounds sweet and if even the creator can't remember then it must be epic."

Thankfully, Eminem fans didn't have to wait that long, with the 'scratch' version of the song released soon.

"Agh it's like I'm in a parallel existence where everything's the same but a bit different," one fan said.

Another wrote: "The fact that he can write 2 versions of the same song, have both versions be impeccable, and that he had totally forgotten writing this version is just mind-boggling to me."

"This is a throw away demo and is still better than 90% of what is released today. His rhyming ability on tempo is the best I’ve ever heard and is still is to this day," a third added.

A final resolved: "It's insane em can record an entire song that's as good as this and not remember it at all..what a goat..a legend at the least."
