Gran, 62, wants eighth baby with husband almost 40 years younger than her

A 62-year-old woman has defended her decision to try for an eighth child with her partner who's nearly 40 years her junior

A 62-year-old woman has defended her decision to try for an eighth child with her partner who's nearly 40 years her junior.

TikTok famous couple Cheryl McGregor (62) and Quran McCain (25) revealed their plans to have a baby via surrogate earlier last year.

McGregor - who is already a mother to seven children and a grandmother to 17 - and McCain have faced criticism online for their 37-year-age gap relationship, as well as their plans to spend £120,000 ($144,453) if needed, in order to have a baby together.

The pair have continued to speak out and defend their aspirations to become parents, with McGregor arguing her age won't impact her ability to be a good mother.

McCain and McGregor - who tied the knot last September - appeared on yesterday's (Tuesday, 7 March) episode of This Morning to talk to presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby about their plans to have a baby.

When asked about the public response to their plans to become parents, McGregor responded: "I guess just because of my age, I can't take care of a baby? What? I've got more energy than half of these kids that are taking care of babies now. And I don't see it as a problem.

"No, I cannot have a baby myself, but we have done the surrogate thing, where we've already had three surrogates and right now, we're looking for another one. And also maybe adoption."

The pair have faced mixed responses online to their relationship.

A clip from Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over USA was also played on the show.

Dooley viewed comments the couple have received on social media, some of them claiming the pair are only together 'to stay relevant on TikTok' - McGregor and McCain having amassed over three million followers on the platform.

McCain said: "At the end of the day, this is our love and a lot of people are speculating our love. You can say whatever you want and how you feel and we can't control that, and that's understandable.

"But regardless of if we were on TikTok or not, our life still isn't normal to society."

The pair have a 'happy, healthy marriage'.

In his final comments to Schofield and Willoughby, McCain resolved: "You can keep spectating through the screen and we're still going to keep living our lives because we're happy.

"We're very much happy, this is a happy, healthy marriage. We're looking to start our family and this is all we got, we good."

McGregor added: "Us against the world."
