Ant And Dec's Let's Get Ready To Rhumble Is Intentionally Played In Poundland At Certain Times Every Day

Ant And Dec's Let's Get Ready To Rhumble Is Intentionally Played In Poundland At Certain Times Every Day

The 90s tune is being blasted in shops as a secret signal to employees

Ant and Dec's iconic song 'Let's Get Ready To Rhumble' is being played in Poundland for a very specific reason.

Those who love a good bargain have welcomed the hit song, yet are completely unaware as to why it's being played.

One tweeted: "I'm in Poundland, PJ and Duncan are pumping at quite frankly impressive volume and tbh I'm ready for a 1994 disco in the BEST kind of way.”

Another added: “Was in Poundland and @antanddec’s Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble came on. I was singing along. Was well good :D.”

Others have tweeted the Saturday Night Takeaway stars directly.

One said: “Heard Let’s Get Ready To Rumble in Poundland today…guys, you’ve made it! @antanddec.”

Another commented: “I swear every time I’ve been in Poundland recently they’ve been playing ready to rumble by PJ and Duncan. Is there some secret thing I don’t know about?”

It turns out the 90s hit is getting blasted in branches up and down the country as a secret signal to workers. The way it works is, as soon as the song gets played, staff must quickly 'rhumble' to tidy up the shelves, reports The Sun.

A Poundland spokesman told LADbible: "We love a rumble at Poundland, but there’s no Ant & Dec deal.

"Stores play the classic ‘Lets Get Ready To Rumble’ at set times prompting our amazing colleagues to do a quick clean up to keep stores looking fab.

"It always raises a smile for customers when they hear it!"

Although it seems like the two Geordies have known each other forever, they first met in 1990 on the children's television show, Byker Grove.

Dec was first on the show from 1989, whereas Ant joined in 1990. The duo played PJ (Ant) and Duncan (Declan).

After leaving the show they remarkably became popstars for a brief while before returning to host some of the most famous British TV shows.

Fast forward to last weekend, the pair were left red-faced after their return to Saturday Night Takeaway.

The ITV show was off the air the week before due to the Six Nations rugby being on instead. However, there seemed to be a series of technical blunders during the 'Read My Lips' segment as well as cutting to the wrong family home when showing the 'Happiest Minute of the Week'.

Ant and Dec were forced to briefly put a stop to the programme before restarting the game.
