People have been left stunned at a woman’s ‘inconsiderate’ behaviour on a three-hour flight.

Now, outside the general in-air rules of not opening the plane door or randomly shouting the b-word (never do this), is there really a right or wrong way to behave on a plane?

I think the answer to that is yes.

Surely we can agree on keeping all of your body parts to yourself, including your feet.

Also, not taking up all of the overhead luggage space is usually considered a sign of decency.

And if you forget your headphones, I don't want to hear any Love Island spoilers.

Mostly because who cares?

Anyway, it seems that a number of frequent-flyers have been left fuming with a woman's 'entitled and selfish' act on a plane.

Taking to Reddit last year, one user shared an image of a woman painting her nails on a three-hour plane journey.

"The flight attendant asked her after four of us asked her to stop and she didn't, because by the time the flight attendant got involved, she was doing the top coat," the flyer claimed.

"I did the British thing and glared at the back of her head and tutted loudly until she finally put it away."

Many were shocked by the woman's antics, as one person commented: "Happened on a flight I was on; flight attendant came over and shut that down within a minute for degrading the air quality."

Another added: "People like this make me realise how overly considerate I am. My brain can't comprehend this level of entitlement and selfishness."

A third person also fumed: "I would have literally snatched that s**t and tossed it in the toilet. I can't stand the smell of that in a well ventilated house."

While a fourth wrote: "As someone who enjoys painting their nails, the fumes can be literally nauseating in an enclosed space for people with keen noses... Even I wouldn't dare subject people to that on a flight."

And someone else commented: "I didn’t see the issue at first either, I think nail varnish smells lovely, I’m just now learning that most people do not share my opinion."

Is using nail polish on a flight illegal?

No, it isn't.

However, a spokesperson for United Airlines, said: "United doesn’t have a formal policy on nail polishing in flight, but as a courtesy we may ask customers to refrain from doing so for the comfort of their fellow passengers."

A spokesperson for Virgin America added: "While we don’t currently have an official policy against nail polish, as a courtesy, we do request that guests refrain from using it onboard flights for the comfort of their fellow travellers."
