Brits are going to 'new Ibiza' with 35-degree heat, cheaper bars and lively nightlife

It’s late March, which means it’s spring, which means it’s basically nearly summer. Hey, that’s the logic you’ve got to have when you hate the cold.

So, with the season of beer gardens, music festivals and BBQs upon us, plenty of Brits are getting their holidays booked.

But with the cost of living seeming to cripple everything most of us want to do, party holiday lovers are turning to the ‘new Ibiza’ destination.

Boasting 35-degree heat, countless DJs and cheaper clubs, it’s said people are flocking here as an alternative to the typical locations.

Forget Magaluf, Ayia Napa, and your typical Spanish go to spots - especially since the crackdown - because apparently the popular spot now is Bodrum in Turkey. Many are dubbing the spot as the ‘new’ alternative to Ibiza where drinks prices seem even higher than ever.

Sitting pretty on the southwest coast of Turkey, the party town has holidaymakers flocking from various countries.

And the weather seems absolutely barmy. According to Holiday Weather, the beach resort sees an average high of 26C in May, 30C in June and a whopping 34C in July. Even in December it still reaches a decent 16C.

So, while you’re sat out enjoying those hot temperatures and sunny skies, what do you need to have in your hand? A nice cold beer (or you know, an alcohol free one, of course).

According to PintPrice, the average pint of lager in Bodrum costs just £2.24 compared to a much higher £4.19 in Ibiza.

According to KAYAK, you can find nice four star+ hotels in the Turkish spot from just £22 a night – and we all know that would be well over £100 on the island of Ibiza.

Hiker’s Bay also works out a three course meal for two in Ibiza coming in at £68.24 compared to just £11.77 over in Bodrum.

And let’s be real, if you’re going over there for a party, it’s more likely a lot of your diet is going to consist of kebabs.

The place is growing in its reputation as a party town with a whole strip nicknamed ‘Bodrum Bar Street’. Here there’s several clubs and bars to dance the night away. Then there’s also Gumbet Bar Street with even more spots and the iconic Marina Yacht Club.

You can find clubs playing rock music, clubs on boats, live music bars, beach bars and obviously, what would a holiday spot be without an Irish bar?

There’s often cheap flights over to Bodrum from the UK, with the journey taking about four hours.

It's time to get excited for holiday season now, lads.
