Martin Lewis issues urgent advice to save hundreds on easyJet flights

Martin Lewis issues urgent advice to save hundreds on easyJet flights

'Be ready to pounce', he says

Martin Lewis is the King of financial advice here in the UK, spending his days fighting back against rising costs to keep as much as possible in our back pockets.

And the Money Saving Expert (MSE) founder is back again, this time with him and his team giving us the latest lowdown on jetting off for less and 'how to manipulate the budget airline and avoid extra fees'.

The MSE team regularly offers the latest on cheap travel and how to save money on deals that are already pretty welcoming to our bank accounts, including what's going on with Ryanair.

Now, the MSE team and Lewis have issued fresh information on the latest when it comes to booking with easyJet.

In a post on Tuesday, Lewis said on X (formerly Twitter): "Heads up. Urgent cheap easyJet flights trick for this winter, including Christmas."

The MSE explains that easyJet is 'famous for its dynamic demand pricing model'. And by that, they mean supply and demand rules the roost; your price is only going up if a lot of people are after the same flight or flights to the same destination.

But there's one way to get around this, and that's taking advantage when demand is very low.

Nine times out of ten, there's no real way of knowing when this might be. But one way you can take advantage is to act quickly when seats are released.

The next drop takes place on Thursday (21 March), so there's not long to get your house in order if you want to plan a holiday or trip anywhere overseas.

The team says: "The next batch of seats will be released on easyJet's website early on Thursday, 21 March, for travel between 1 December and 2 March 2025.

"Around 18 million seats will become available; 10 million of them will be to / from the UK."

EasyJet has previously said that flights will be released at around 9am, but the MSE team has experienced this as early as 6am. If this happens, by 9am your rock-bottom prices will likely have increased.

Passengers have taken to X to speak about their successes in using the advice on previous occasions.

One said: "What a great piece of advice. I booked for my family of five to Geneva at Christmas. I booked this morning around 6am and this afternoon it was nearly £200 more expensive."

A second posted: "Five flights to Lanzarote booked this morning for £502! Just checked and they sitting at £668 now."
