Brits flock to Costa Del Sol 'Weatherspains' pub which sells cheap pints in the sun

Brits flock to Costa Del Sol 'Weatherspains' pub which sells cheap pints in the sun

'Weatherspains' is a pub on Spain's Costa del Sol that has a funny name, as well as decent weather and beer

A pub in the south of Spain has been providing a slice of home for British tourists, while mimicking one of the UK’s biggest pub chains in the process.

Hilariously, they’ve decided to call it ‘Weatherspains’ in honour of the pub group owned by Tim Martin.

It’s not clear what Wetherspoon makes of all of this, but the chain is unlikely to be threatened by this pub, as it’s based in Benalmadena on the Costa del Sol, rather than in Britain.

So, for those who go on holiday to Spain – or any other country, for that matter – and want to spend their time in a pub that is just like home, this is the perfect spot.

As you can see, the weather is a bit better than in the UK.

In many ways, Weatherspains is quite similar to the UK-based version, and even has a pretty similar menu.

There’s all sorts of stuff on offer, such as pub classics like gammon and chips, sausage and mash, and a load of different types of pies as well.

You can get jacket potatoes, sandwiches, burgers, and all sorts.

It’s hardly the tapas and paella that you’d expect to get in Spain.

As far as the alcohol goes, you can find much of the same stuff that you might encounter in the UK Wetherspoon pubs as well, including cocktails, pints of varying types of beer, and soft drinks.

One thing that does make this place a bit different is that it offers a table service, instead of people having to go up to the bar when they want a drink.

Oh, and there’s the weather.

Obviously, being on the Costa del Sol, there’s a lot more sun than there would be in the UK at this time of year.

So, you can sit outside in the beer garden on a lovely terrace and soak up the sunshine.

For a bit later in the evening, the pub has events like karaoke, too.

That’s not something that you’d expect to see in a Wetherspoon in the UK, either.

Punters have rated Weatherspains highly online.

The pub is – as you might have guessed – owned by British people, who clearly want to bring their clientele a slice of home while in a holiday setting.

They’re far from unique in that regard, but the clever name seems to be what sets this place apart.

It’s popular, boasting a hugely favourable TripAdvisor rating of 4.5, and a Facebook business rating of 4.8.

It’s not a contest, but that’s higher than a lot of Wetherspoon pubs.

As far as the reviews go, there are 137 ‘excellent’ ones, and a good number of generally positive ones to select from, with few customers reporting a bad time.

It can’t all just be about having a funny name, then.
