Britain's Got Talent slammed with Ofcom complaints over 'utterly disgusting' audition

Britain's Got Talent slammed with Ofcom complaints over 'utterly disgusting' audition

Britain's Got Talent viewers have raised quite the stink over one of the auditions

Britain's Got Talent is back on our screens but that also means that the viewers are once again complaining to Ofcom about the show.

One act in particular has resulted in people deciding to write letters after contestant Kimberly Winter burped her way through ABBA's 'The Winner Takes It All'. Have a look for yourself:

The performance wasn't for everyone as Alesha Dixon walked away from the judge's table and tried to get Bruno Tonioli to follow her out.

However, while the burping singer got a bit of a mixed response from the judges Tonioli rescinded his red buzzer to send her through to the next round with three 'yes' votes to Dixon's one 'no'.

The Metro reports that Saturday's (20 April) episode of Britain's Got Talent resulted in complaints to Ofcom, and that all of them were about the burping audition.

Some ITV viewers had taken to social media to slate the audition as 'revolting' and 'utterly disgusting', but they're not through to the next round on Britain's Got Talent and Kimberly is.

There were also fans of the burping audition from viewers who hoped to see her go all the way and win it, if only so she would end up performing at the Royal Variety and have to burp to a song in front of the king and queen.

Apparently a grand total of 54 people felt the need to write into Ofcom and complain about the unspeakable vulgarity of a lady entering a talent competition, because someone must please think of the children.

Then again, you should probably take some of the reactions from the Britain's Got Talent audience with a pinch of salt.

Some of them got the grumps over a singer who received the Golden Buzzer having, shock horror, prior experience in performing.

Britain's Got Talent has resulted in complaints being sent in to Ofcom in the past.

Last year there were a lot of complaints over an audition where a man lit himself on fire while trying to solve a Rubik's cube.

In previous years Ofcom has received thousands of complaints from Britain's Got Talent viewers over a performance from returning winners Diversity and performance inspired by Black Lives Matter.

Ofcom received over 20,000 complaints for that moment and said the performance was 'a call for social cohesion and unity' in their statement explaining why they wouldn't be investigating further.

LADbible has contacted Ofcom and Thames TV for further comment.
