Ant and Dec's 'creepy' Saturday Night Takeaway transformation leaves viewers with 'nightmares'

Ant and Dec will step back from Saturday Night Takeaway after this season

Ant and Dec left viewers with ‘nightmares’ after their show last night (30 March).

The pair’s 'creepy' transformation on Saturday Night Takeaway had them looking very different to the duo we all know so well.

See if the skit sends a shiver down your spine below:

An absolute staple of British telly, this is set to be the last series of the iconic ITV show before it goes on an indefinite hiatus, with Ant and Dec going all out for a final time after so many years.

And of course, that means amping up all the usual classics of Saturday Night Takeaway, including the End of the Show Show.

Last night’s (30 March) episode saw the globally famous performance artists Blue Man Group take to the stage for the big final number of the show.

But as any viewer of the series will know, the hosts of course joined them to take part.

They joined the Blue Man Group on stage.

Except they didn’t quite appear as the Geordie lads we all know and love.

Instead, the pair donned bald caps and were painted bright orange and green.

And to be fair, they do look pretty creepy.

Viewers took to X to say they were ‘gonna have nightmares’ as they compared to green Dec looking like Jim Carrey in The Mask.

While another joked about his orange pal: “Ant, Donald Trump wants his make-up back.”

One put: “That is frightening!!! Dec will be signed up for next tour of Shrek the Musical.”

Others were more shaken by the stars as they wrote: “Ngl the blue people freak the f**k out of me.”

Another said on an Instagram post of the pair: “Not sure if I like this, it’s a bit creepy looking.”

As others echoed: “Ngl it’s a bit creepy this make up but loved the show guys.”

Although, one viewer did ask on X: “Who could be terrified by Ant & Dec?” And another joked: “Vast improvement guys.”

Also during last night’s show, Sam Thompson finally had his I’m A Celebrity promise fulfilled.

As fans may recall, Sam grew close with Marvin Humes during their time in the jungle.

The Made in Chelsea star managed to persuade Marvin to teach him some JLS dance moves in camp, all while pleading with the singer to let him become the fifth member of the recently reformed boy band.

Finally, Sam's dreams were realised last night, as he took to the stage with Marvin, Aston Merrygold, Oritsé Williams and JB Gill to bust some moves and sing his heart out.
