Steve-O Reveals Three Jackass Scenes That Were Too Shocking To Show

Never try this at home.

Jackass royalty Steve-O has revealed the scenes from the gonzo-stunt show that were too shocking to air.

Considering this is the series that brought us such memorable moments as 'wasabi snooters' and 'poo cocktail extreme', it's surprising to know that there were stunts deemed too extreme to show.

The 47-year-old entertainer made the revelation during a recent episode of First We Feast's Hot OnesHot Ones alongside his pal and Jackass co-star Wee-Man.

Host Sean Evans asks the pair: "I'm curious if there is a Jackass segment that's buried in a vault somewhere because the folks at SMP never wanted it to see the light of day?"

Great question, and one that Steve-O was more than happy to answer.

"I've got at least three for Jackass," he says, to which Wee-Man responds, "That's true."

The first one is something called 'box down stairs', which Steve-O describes as the following:

"He [Johnny Knoxville] just got in a box, they tucked in some pillows around him, taped it up, rolled it down a huge flight of cement stairs, and it was violent as hell."

Which brings him onto the next scene: "There was also when Knoxville shot himself with the 38-calibre Smith and Wesson handgun."

We should add that even though Hot Ones demonstrated these scenes with a cartoon, they did include the following warning: "Johnny is wearing a bullet-proof vest under his shirt, never try this at home (duh). Even the cameraman in this segment says he wants nothing to do with it."

And they mean never try this at home.

As for the third scene, Steve-O says: "And when he said, 'I'm Johnny Knoxville and I'm going to get hit by a car real soon. Car just came flying, he went through the windshield, rolled over.

"They asked him, 'What were you thinking when you got hit by a car?' And his answer was, 'I wore two pairs of jeans so that I'd be safe'."

Classic - just another day in the life of a Jackass star.

While they certainly sound hilarious, especially with Steve-O narrating, you can see why these scenes in particular weren't aired.

Even with a preceding warning to the viewers at home, it's not enough to cover such violent acts - even if they were self-inflicted.

Speaking of which, the injuries that the group suffered as a result of their antics proved to be an expensive endeavour.

Paramount Pictures

From Knoxville popping his eye out to Steve-O smashing his teeth, the team collectively stacked up hospital bills costing an estimated $24 million (£17.3m).

The eye-watering sum was worked out by the folks over at Nova Legal Funding, which deals with personal injury claims, looking at 79 injuries recorded by six members of Jackass.

However, they pointed out that the projected figure 'only accounts for the reported injuries suffered by the main members' and that the real number could be closer to $38m (£27.5m).

Ouch - that's gotta hurt nearly as much as their injuries did.
