Tom Hanks fans make strange observation about action he does far too often in movies

Do what you will with this information.

The life of a film star sounds super glamorous and cushy, but by the looks of things, even A-List Hollywood actors like Tom Hanks aren't being given enough bathroom breaks at work.

That's the only explanation I can think of after fans pointed out that Tom does one specific thing in almost all of his movies.

Maybe it's an inside joke, maybe it's a good luck charm, or maybe it's just pure coincidence, and you might not have even thought about it until we've mentioned it now.

Observant viewers have noticed that Hanks has a habit of peeing in every film he's in.

Yes, that's what we're talking about. Tom Hanks and his multitude of peeing scenes.

If you haven't noticed it before, you definitely will now. And for that, I am sorry.

After spotting the strange action that the Academy Award winner tends to do in all of his major movies, one fan went searching for answers on Reddit.

"Tom Hanks pees or has a direct reference to a bathroom emergency in a majority of his A-list movies," they wrote before firing off a list of some of Tom's key peeing scenes.

For example, in Forrest Gump, Forrest's only words while meeting JFK are: "I gotta pee."

And in The Green Mile, his character Paul Edgecomb has a urinary infection and complains that he 'p**ses razor blades'.

The star also has peeing scenes in A League Of Their Own, The Money Pit, Apollo 13, and Cast Away.

In The Terminal, he waits by the pay phone all day for a call, refusing to leave his post in case he misses his call about a job application. Once he learns the position has been filled, he makes a beeline for the bathroom.

When he plays Captain Phillips, he pees off the side of the rescue boat before diving into the sea to try and escape.

And, in The Da Vinci Code, Robert Langdon tells the inspector that he has to go to the bathroom so that he can get away and continue his investigation.

Obviously, some Tom's animated films like the Toy Story saga get a pass here because, well, Woody is a toy.

But overall, you have to admit, it's pretty strange that this seems to be a 'thing' for all of his major characters.

"He has them all in his biggest movies, it's a power move/good luck charm for awards" suggested one Redditor after noticing the pattern.

Another theorised: "I wonder if this is the Tom Hanks specific version of giving a dog to a character in a movie to establish the character as a hero such as Maximus in Gladiator. Having Hanks deal in urine makes his character approachable because everyone pees but without infringing on his good guy status."

The actor has never addressed this unusual habit before, so the reasoning for this choice is still anyone's guess.

Until he finally decides to put us all out of our misery, this may haunt us all forever.
