Woman told ‘heartbreaking’ gift she got after dumping boyfriend is actually ‘reverse psychology’

Woman told ‘heartbreaking’ gift she got after dumping boyfriend is actually ‘reverse psychology’

The TikToker has shared a break-up gift she received from her ex-boyfriend, and viewers don't approve

A woman has shared a break-up gift she received from her ex-boyfriend of seven years, though viewers are not very approving of it.

Break-ups aren't easy, whether you're on the giving or receiving end, there's a lot to deal with - especially in the aftermath.

This TikToker has been sharing her experience after breaking up with her boyfriend of seven years, posting a handful of videos showing how she has been dealing with it.

Going by just 'Rachel' on the social media app, she has posted videos of filling her shopping trolley with snacks and her realisations after the split.

In this specific video, she starts by writing: "I dumped him after 7 years and he gave me this gift,"

With over 18 million views since being posted a couple of weeks ago, it's fair to say that its done the rounds on people's fyps.

She then goes on to unwrap the gift, removing all the stuffing paper from the bag that sported heart patterns.

The gift has been perceived as 'reverse psychology' by some viewers.

Underneath all the wrapping paper was a note that said: "I know you don’t love me anymore. Love yourself now, Kev".

Accompanying it was a book called 'How to Love Yourself', a gift that has been taken in a more negative light by viewers, who took to the comments section to share their thoughts on it.

One said: "Can’t tell if it’s manipulation or actual genuineness"

Another commented: "It’s giving reverse psychology."

A third said: "they always do what you were asking for the whole time after it’s too late."

To which the creator replied saying: "EXACCTTLLYYY".

The book may have been a nice gesture, but many thought it was too late in the comments.

Most of the comments section seems to think it's mind games from her ex-boyfriend, with some thinking that it might be a nice gesture, though too late.

One user said: "We all want you to burn his gift," to which she listened to, and began burning it in her latest TikTok.

However, shortly after burning it, she uncovered the book from the outside snow and started reading it.

Rachel has admitted that the situation 'hurts,' but that the book is 'ironically' helping her heal from the relationship, though saying that 'men always wake up when it’s too late.'

In a separate TikTok, she said the biggest mistake she made was loving her partner more than she loved herself.

Some advice for those who may be going through the same thing though, self-love is crucial.

That's not just exclusive to relationships either, folks!
