Today's edition of This Morning was pulled from the air and emergency footage was shown instead.
Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were presenting the show live, however, when the show returned from a break, they both appeared in a pre-recorded video, telling viewers that they couldn't be with them live.
Phillip said: "As we can't be live with you today we have lined up some of our best bits for you to enjoy."
Prior to the episode being cut, there had been interviews with Rebel Wilson and Brenda Blethyn.
The emergency footage included an interview with Britain's dullest man, as well as a clip of Phil and Holly enjoying some tree-hugging.
Viewers shared their surprise at seeing the show cut short, asking ITV what had gone on.
Writing on Twitter, one fan said: "@thismorning what happened. Why was the show cut short?"
Echoing the confusion, another chimed in: "Wait what’s happened? #ThisMorning."
A third wrote: "This Morning causing mild panic as it suddenly cuts to 'best bits'."
While another added: "I thought I was having a funny turn just then, they did just played the This Morning titles again at 12:15 and cut to a pre recorded show?"
In a tweet this afternoon, a spokesperson for This Morning said: "We apologise for the break in live programming today. We are currently running pre-recorded content and hope to be back with you soon."
It's not the only show that has been affected, though, with Loose Women also showing a pre-recorded episode.
Nadia Sawalha introduced today's episode, saying: "Welcome to a very special episode of Loose Women.
"We will be taking a look back at the very best of our life before Loose series."
