Most brutal SAS: Who Dares Wins yet starts tonight as it moves to 'deadly' new location

The challenge starts on Channel 4 tonight in a 'deadly' new location

As if the challenges in SAS: Who Dares Wins couldn't get any more brutal, a brand new season starts tonight and it promises to be 'more intense' and 'more claustrophobic' than ever before.

This year, those who were crazy - erm, brave - enough to sign up for the hardcore reality series will be heading out for the toughest stage of SAS Selection.

Yes, 20 recruits will be heading out to take on the elements in Thung Ui, North Vietnam in a challenge that even the directing staff wouldn't want to take on.

Each brutal task in the jungle is based on a very real part of the SAS selection process. The recruits must go beyond the physical to come face-to-face with their true character. No other test asks as much or means as much to the few who make it through.

Commenting on the horrific new landscape, Billy Billingham MBE QCB, the new Chief Instructor, said: "Finally back in the jungle, this is my baby. I have a lot of experience in this. I’ll take the lead…the jungle phase of selection was the hardest part of my military career. I’ve never felt so relieved for something to be over."

Rudy Reyes says that the Vietnamese jungle 'isn’t some gap year holiday destination' and will 'kill you if you underestimate it'.

Hinting at what the recruits are in for, Rudy described the savage jungle course as a 'baptism of fire'.

As if that didn't sound bad enough, Jason Foxy added: "You've got the jungle around you with all the plants, all the animals, all the insects that try to get you.

"And then to top it all off, the humidity feels like another creature. An alien one that's just trying to suck the soul out of you. It’s a horrible place."

And new DS Chris Oliver warned: "The jungle will eat, sting and bite them from the minute they’re exposed to it and that’s even before the DS get their hands on the recruits.”

Sounds delightful!

Who will be able to handle the jungle?
