Quentin Tarantino has shared a detail about what is expected to be the final film he's going to direct.
The director has spoken a lot about a '10 movie plan' where he would helm 10 films and then call it a day, retiring from Hollywood to rest on his laurels.
With nine movies done, there's only one more movie to go before we risk seeing the last of Tarantino.
We say he's got nine movies under his belt, to reach that total you've either got to count both volumes of Kill Bill as one total instalment or drop Death Proof from the list entirely.

With The Hateful Eight selling itself as the eighth movie from the director, it's clear how many he thinks he's done in his plan.
Whichever way you count it, by Tarantino's own reckoning he's only got one more movie left to finish off his list of films and that might be the last we see of his work on the big screen.
According to The Digital Fix, Tarantino has revealed that the next movie he directs is going to be an entirely original idea of his own.
That's not always been the case throughout his career in the director's chair, as Jackie Brown was adapted from the novel Rum Punch.

Still, with the vast majority of Tarantino's movies being the stories he wanted to tell rather than adaptations it looks like audiences are going to be getting more of what they want from him.
He has faced accusations of some of his movies not actually being his ideas after all, with rapper Kanye West recently claiming he secretly had the original idea for Django Unchained.
The director hit back, saying that 'didn't happen' and insisting he'd had the idea for Django long before the rapper claimed to come up with it.
With all those ideas swirling around in his mind and his next movie an original creation of his it's not hard to imagine that he's already got a pretty clear idea of what he's going to do with movie number 10.

The director thinks his most recent movie, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, is the best movie he's ever made.
A love letter to the last days of the golden age of Hollywood, the director said he used to say 'they're all my children' when asked which was his best movie, but he is now sure which is is favourite.
That's high praise considering he's got films like Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs in his locker.

Tarantino also recently said filmmakers 'couldn't wait for the day' when the superhero genre finally ran out of steam and died.
Superhero movies have been the dominant force in cinema for over a decade now and Tarantino, who said he's not directed any of them as he's 'not a hired hand', reckons his fellow filmmakers can't wait for their time to pass.
He doesn't think they've had their time just yet, however, as he said 'the writing's not quite on the wall yet' but there could come a time where they're something 'nobody gives a damn about anymore'.
