Netflix drops new trailer from creator of Safe and The Stranger starring Michelle Keegan

The trailer for a new series from the creator of Safe, Stay Close and The Stranger has landed.

Starring Michelle Keegan, it’s Netflix’s fourth Harlan Coben adaptation.

Fool Me Once was filmed in Manchester and is an adaptation of the 2016 novel by the popular mystery and thriller writer.

Directed by David Moore, it has a pretty epic cast with Joanna Lumley, Richard Armitage and Adeel Akhtar starring alongside Keegan.

Ready for that New Year’s Day big binge (and probably hangover) on the sofa, the eight-part series will be released at 8am on 1 January 2024.

The Netflix synopsis for the series reads: “Fool Me Once follows Maya Stern (Michelle Keegan) who is trying to come to terms with the brutal murder of her husband, Joe (Richard Armitage).

"But when Maya installs a nanny-cam to keep an eye on her young daughter, she is shocked to see a man she recognises in her house. Her husband, who she thought was dead...

“Detective Sergeant Sami Kierce (Adeel Akhtar) leads the homicide investigation into Joe's death while grappling with secrets of his own.

"Meanwhile, Maya's niece and nephew, Abby and Daniel, are trying to find the truth about their mother's murder, several months earlier.

“Are the two cases connected? Fool Me Once follows these characters on a thrilling hunt for the truth that will reveal shocking secrets and change their lives forever.”

Reacting to the trailer drop on X, users wrote: “This is what I’m waiting for.”

And a second said: “If it’s as good as the book, it’ll be well worth watching.”

One said: “So looking forward to this!” as another agreed: “Perfection.”

And plenty echoed: “I am obsessed with Harlan Coben’s series!

"They’re always so brilliant! I am BUZZING for this!”

Another simply wrote: “O SWEET HOLY MOTHER BABY JESUS SCREAM.” Festive, I guess.

With many saying it ‘looks so good’, it’s certainly going to be quite the bang to start off the new year with.
